🏈 What has happened to our rushing game?

As The Bear would say, we stopped running the ball because we were trying to win the damn game!

This.
I agree...we were trying to win the damn game. which is why i don't have a problem with the fake.
Had he ACTUALLY caught the ball.....this could have been a lot differant.

Also Bear said: "The same thing wins that always won, and when we don't all we got is just a bunch of excuses."
So...enoug ofthis BS and lets get it together. we got Ol Miss this week. and Just like the team we don't need to
cry over split milk. Need to focus on the next team, next game next play.

He was 8 yards from a 1st down and had 3 defenders within 3 yards of him. there is no way he would have gotten the first down.

A question . . . or two . . . or three. Do we ever do anything in the wildcat except run Ingram? We didn't against Carolina. If that's all we do, it allows the D to stack to line to stop the run. Do we ever hand off to the motion back? Do we ever throw out of the wildcat (halfback pass)?

We have thrown out of the Wildcat and we have handed it off to the motion man.
I think some people talking about Greg holding on to the ball too long aren't quite getting it all out there. Pass blocking was ok for the most part. Greg did have time to throw. Greg was trying to allow for receivers to get open. When they didn't get open though, he should have thrown the ball out of bounds. 2nd and 10 is a "helluva" lot better than 2nd and 18.

The reason GMac held the ball so long is that couldn't find an open receiver. Our pass blocking was OK, for the most part until the end when they were tired. GMac should have thrown the ball away rather than take the sacks he took. Our run blocking wasn't up to par, and that was the difference in the game. If we could have run the ball effectively, the result would have been different. We simply didn't have the intensity we needed to win.

But, the sun came up this morning, we're still going to be a top 10 team, and - if we are truly that good - we will win out and go to the SEC Championship game and be in a BCS game at the end of the season. With a few breaks, we might even still be able to win it all again. Especially if we were to get another shot at USC and play like we are capable of playing.

Saban said that 5 of those sacks were due to GMac holding the ball too long. That makes me feel better -- I think. We were flat in a bunch of areas, so hopefully an attitude adjustment fixes some of it.
