I'll give you this hint, it's from a game with an OOC opponent.

Make your best guess!
Alright, well I guess there's no point in playing the game then lol. You guys seem to have all contingencies figured out!
You're throwing out 40 times like it's a race and player weights like they're going to be doing a tug-o-war.

I respect Bama and feel like we'll need an almost perfect game to beat them, but 40 times and player weights are far from the factor that should be discussed as the reason why Alabama is going to win (as it is here). This isn't NCAA Football XX where a team full of 95+ speed guys is unbeatable.

Why do I think XXXX has a chance to win? Because for as much as Alabama's defense scares me, there offense doesn't frighten me. They possess the ball, look to not make mistakes, and lean on the defense to win. It's not as if, on top of a great defense, they trot out an explosive an unstoppable offense. I'm not worried about coming out and having to play from behind all game, because none of Alabama's games last season were out of reach at the half.

Bama obviously has a phenomenal defense. However, it's also not as if Bama played a gauntlet of prolific offensive teams. XXXX returns two 1000 rushers (one of which touches the ball every single play and also threw for 2000 yards last season).

For some perspective, Alabama faced 4 1000 rushers all last season. You're not going to be able to lineup and key on a guy like
XXXX (in the case of XXXX) as the extent of XXXX running game. Every play, their defense is going to have to account for XXXX plus XXXX XXXX or whoever else is in the backfield.

As far as passing game, Alabama faced 2 quarterbacks who could be considered mobile.XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX (who were both awful last season). Say what you want about him being a running back in the SEC...that's the factor that makes him hard to defend. You're not going to be able to play traditional pass defense against XXXX because of his running ability. It's no secret that XXXX doesn't have the best passing arm, but it's his running ability that masks the limitations in his passing.

Much like Bama's QB, XXXX isn't called on to win the game with his arm very often (thank god). We just don't want him to lose the game with his arm.

I expect the game to be close going into the 4th quarter, simply because I don't think Alabama's offense is going to come out and put up a ton of points. If XXXX can get one or 2 big plays in the game, I like our chances.

That is why I feel like XXXX will have more than a solid chance to win the game...not because of 40 times and player weights.

So, what's your guess?

Is this a post from a Clemson fan, a Va. Tech fan, Penn State fan, or a Michigan fan?

Virginia Tech... but I could see it being Michigan for this year except for the comment of saying that Robinson would be a RB in the SEC... yea not likely. So prolly Tyrod Taylor.

Curious, which teams in the SEC do you see a guy like Robinson playing the QB position? Mullen at MSU would likely put him there. There's sufficient reason to think Miles would as well. But, that very well may be an indictment against him being a QB in our conference. Then again, we are talking Miles and their development of QB's.

Off the top of my head I can only think of two programs that would recruit him as a QB; MSU as mentioned and maybe Missouri considering there are a few similarities between James Franklin and Denard Robinson.

Remember, he was recruited by RichRod as a QB for that spread/read option attack. I'm not saying I totally agree, but I do see the point. If you take the top three QB's in the SEC last season, they completed about 250 passes on the season. On the other hand, Robinson attempted around 250 passes on the season.

Michigan

I get so sick & tired of folks talking about the rankings of offenses, QB stats, RB stats, & or even defensive stats as if that is a negative indicator of that teams ability. Especially when you samplings are scewed from one end of the spectrum to the other. It is as clear as a bell that these folks didn't take a single statistics course or at least pass it.

Perhaps they work in political polls.

I agree with the Miles statement. Other teams? Ole Miss is one, Auburn (depending if they are the same offense), Texas A&M possibly?

Loeffler is said to be moving to a pro-set. It's going to be something to watch this fall simple because neither of the three QB's on their roster did much through the air last season. I don't believe we can look at the numbers from last year and use those as an indicator of how they'll do this year. I don't think SL can have as big of an impact as Borges did with Campbell.

Hard to say with A&M. Sumlin has had one of the top offenses in the NCAA while at Houston. So did Briles when he was there. I do believe a lot of the credit for Houston's offenses needs to be given to Kliff Kingsbury.

Jameill Showers is no Case Keenum.
