Great post @alabama mike! Like the earlier posts, I’m grateful for God, Country, being born and raised in Alabama, being married to a Gorgeous Smarter-than-me wife for25 years (She’s funnier too ); 2 great sons who take care of themselves, contribute to society, not on drugs, etc. I work for a great company doing something I love and Delta has free wifi in trans-Atlantic flights this year so I can watch Bama on Saturday night games when I fly for business. And Rattlesnake Saloon is on our list!

Thankful for? This forum of fellow Tide fans. Thank you to the creators and administrators and to all posters. This place is like a home within my home. A place to read opinions and garner information that likely I would never find any place else. A place to hang out with fellow bums like me.

Thankful for a lot. #1 being my wife, for putting up with a guy like me and loving me for who I am, not what I was/could be. Thankful to have a healthy family and kids that I get to enjoy. Thankful for my own health. Getting older every day and feeling it, but as a whole cannot complain. Very thankful for this site and the people here, who like my wife, put up with me on a daily basis. Seriously, nothing better than a group of folks that can happily get along, fight and get along, and talk themselves through current events, our passions, and our team without making it violent. Lots to be thankful for, and hoping to be thankful for a healthy athletic program, some Championships, high level academic achievement, and a university we can all be proud of.

Thankful for God. He has allowed my wife of 45 years to be cancer free for 4 years now. Her cancer had a high probability of returning in a 2-3 year time frame.

Wife of near 36 years, making it to see my kids grown and gone with their own lives but still able to visit. Living through, IMO, the 2 greatest coaches ever in college football. Seeing/visiting some of the most awe-inspiring places in this great country.

Great thread!!! Thankful for my Faith, though I fail so many times. Thankful for my wife of 26 years and counting, 2 grown kids, 1 granddaughter that turns 2 this weekend, both of my parents are still living.
I’m thankful for my part-time job after 28 years in the education profession. I’m thankful for the friendships that I’ve made on here as well. You guys are my extended extended family!!

My Daughter who is a freshman at UT. So proud of her for forging her own path. This weekend will be unique. She grew up an Alabama fan because of me and told me she was rooting for UT but.... if Bama won that would be ok too. I don't think she actually cares at all about football.
My son who I love watching play football. And my youngest daughter who is a really good softball and recently picked up volleyball.I love watching my kids compete and grow. I love my wife who makes me remember daily how stupid I really am. Finally I love my dog who's best quality is the fact that he is totally worthless and sleeps in my bed with his ass on my head.

Clam, we’re in the same boat. Daughter is sophomore there. Broke my heart when she decided to go there. She delayed telling me for as long as she could. I should get past it but I can’t. She got everything paid for with scholarships because she knew it wouldn’t be an option if I had to write any checks. I’ve only had to pay for sorority dues, no money to the school itself and I will keep it that way. But she’s happy there and made great friends and it excelling in school. So I’ll limit my complaints.

Still UT system... tried to get her to go to Tennessee wesleyan in Athens tn.
But. She liked UTC. And thats all that matters

On another matter, I spent 1966-71 in graduate school at UT, risking life and limb yelling for Bama from the Vols student section when we played in Neyland. It didn't work. We lost four out of five during that period.

It is a blessing and a curse. What is really strange is having kids of kids you had in school and in some instances also knowing the grandparents from when the dad and mom were in school.
