🏈 Well then thank you Mike Shula!

Totally disagree.

It doesn't cost you anything to be a fan other than an emotional investment. It's your choice, not a requirement, to spend money on apparel.

How much revenue who created? The players involved? Lost me completely on this...

The Athletic Department is self sustaining. The scholarships offered to student athletes come from the coffers of the Ath. Dept. It'd doesn't cost the tax payers one single cent.

Whitt is a BBQ restaurant. And yes, you might deserve an apology from them considering if you like what they offer to eat.

Information on who you need to blame
if you feel compelled to do so.

Excuse me WITT WITT WITT... You have never heard people say athlete's should be paid, because they produce rev. for the univ. on the field please give me a break!

And yes last time I checked they don't give tickets away!

Don't assume I don't attend games, because I live in Boise! i went to two last year! The ticket office didn't ask me for an emotional Credit Card!

And yes Terry I read your article and allthough I agree with some of it! I don't totally agree with you !

Is that a requirement now! to participate?

No matter how much money you spent, being a fan of the Alabama football team cost one thing. An emotional investment.

Like I said earlier, it is a choice to spend money on the things you mentioned.

Based on the money you spent are you linking that to Dr. Witt owing you an apology?

If I take this in the light you've placed it, is it a correct assumption that the trips you made to Tuscaloosa, the memorabilia you purchased, the tickets you used...are they somehow worth less to you now than they were a few weeks ago?

And yes Terry I read your article and although I agree with some of it! I don't totally agree with you !

That's fine. I don't expect everyone to agree with what I write. If you don't, say so.

But, if in those statements you use logic I don't understand or think is based on something that isn't correct I'm going to question that.

Yes you are correct in that we can disagree on logic!

But when I hear this will never happen again and again and again and they keep screwing up it hurts all the fan-base not just the Univ. it feels like we are not being respected! Let that damn stadium sit empty one game and see how fast that arrogance leaves their arse! It is about $$$$$$$$$$$$ whether anyone believes it or not!

It is high time they take this infraction crap serious and quit looking down their nose at us fans and taking us for granted! My ticket purchase and gear purchase should be respected as much as those damn box seats!

Put a product on the field that's clean! I know Saban is doing that, but these kids haven't obviously gotten the MEMO!

And yes those tickets I purchased were Wins now there not 2005-2007!

alagator brings up a point that is one I'm chewing on...

He mentions the point you just did, about a zero tolerance policy in the athletic department for non-compliance and he wondered if Dever actually took the message to heart or if it was delivered strongly enough he took note of it.

I don't know.

Is it possible Dever thought the textbook distribution system was a part of the administrative side of the athletic department and not the compliance side? I SERIOUSLY doubt that.

In fact, if someone said that was the case I'd call bull chizik in a heartbeat.

Which...leads me back to this.

The idea of a letter of reprimand being placed in his employee file as punishment just doesn't sit right with me.

Whose decision was that? I suspect ultimately it was Witt's. And, I suspect that decision was based on the success CASS has had in the last few years.

I saw the lax effort place on academics under Shula. I see improvement under Saban. Do I blame the former on Dever if he didn't have the support system he needed for the coaching offices? That seems logical.

Don't get me wrong...it upsets me to see the University under probation again.

But, that doesn't change my viewpoint that it seems like a knee-jerk reaction to call for Moore's head for something someone else failed to do.

I see him linked to things we didn't like as Bama fans around our football program. But, at the same time, I personally can't hold him at fault for some of those things.

The ones I do hold him at fault for...I don't see them as fireable offenses.

Terry firing someone prob. isn't the answer! It's they never apologize to the fanbase who are truly suffering! it has been what 15 years of crappy Coaching decisions( Not Saban) and sub-par performance inconsistantcy
at competing at a national level the tradition of the Univ. as a brand has been sullied! I for one have exp. this first hand in talking with other fanbases! I'm sure you have as well! I guess I'm just dissapointed because hell!! we just got off probation and Bam! hear we go again! sometimes I vent to much living up here I haven't got many fellow fans to chat with daily...

I do feel Saban is building something special and soon we all will be rewarded with a 13th title! RTR!

What you have to keep in mind Sandra is (this is what I'm told) this isn't over yet. While the NCAA has passed down the ruling to vacate wins, that's going to be appealed and I see a very good chance of the appeals committee over-ruling the COI's decision.

I suppose you see the suspensions as inadequate? That's the feeling I get.
What would you suggest should have happened?

It's my opinion that their suspensions were steeper than what was required. Michael Smith, the running back at Arkansas, was found to be involved in something just like this a few years ago.

His punishment was a suspension for one game and the University of Arkansas was given a secondary violation. (which is all the more reason UA should appeal.)

Terry, I honestly don't know the clear answer for punishment. No, I don't think the suspensions were enough. I know the NCAA wouldn't go for this (because it actually makes sense) but for one I think the players involved should pay the fines. They should at least "offer". Again, I know the NCAA won't allow such. It just seems the people that actually break the rules never have to answer (other than a dissociated booster here and there).

I know it wouldn't necessarily be the best solution, but I would like to see one of the players come forth and apologize. They don't necessarily owe me anything, but they owe their former teammates 21 wins. I seriously doubt Alabama would ever allow them to comment, and maybe the NCAA wouldn't even allow it.

Terry, I don't know about winning an appeal. I would say we have a good shot, but if we win the appeal we hardly get more than a tiny slap on the wrist. For a repeat offender with the number of athletes involved...I just don't see the NCAA letting that happen. If we win the appeal the NCAA gets egg on their face for not dealing with it more harshly...again, just don't see that happening.
