The Tennessee Vols hope for a national title is still within reach after a thrilling overtime upset over Appalachian State.

One of the media’s favorites to win the College Football Playoff Championship is still in the driver’s seat to win after the Vols snatched victory from Appalachian State’s hands in overtime on Thursday in Knoxville. The final score was 20-13.

The powerhouse from North Carolina did everything they needed to in the first half, holding the Vols to only a field goal to take a 13-3 lead into the locker room.

The Vols would not allow themselves to be slain by the powerhouse that marched into Neyland Stadium just after the rain stopped falling. Tennessee charged back into the second half and tied the game up with 2:04 to go.

Josh Dobbs has gotten a lot of attention this season for the possibility of being in New York City for the Heisman Trophy that will be awarded in December. From my account, he may have had his Heisman moment in overtime to score the go-ahead points and the eventual win.

On third and goal, Dobbs leaped into the air with the grace of world’s best ballet dancer Two-Ton Tessie and jump passed fumbled the ball into the waiting arms of Jalen Hurd the end zone where Hurd recovered the ball.

Stanford is one of my top 4 teams at the end of the year. They've got a lot of talent. Just depends in how strong the PAC 12 really is this year. They're looking pretty good against a bad K State.

Reminds me, there was a Robertson kid from Georgia that decommitted from us that wanted to attend Stanford. Guess he didn't make the grade... Is at Cal now I think. Geez, to go from Bama to Cal. Could be another Keenan Allen?

I'm not sure the last time I've seen a more rigged game than this Stanford one. Its comical how hard the refs are favoring the trees.

A Stanford DB literally just tackled a WR in the endzone without being penalized. Even the announcers were beside themselves. They were on an island vs one another, and the entire stadium saw the penalty; there is no way the ref missed it he simply decided not to throw the flag.

I like Stanford a lot, but I really get heated about bad officiating. That is no way for a team to win/lose.
