🏈 We;; the piggies have convinced themselves they will beat us

bamaDelta, you make a good point about the timing and pressure of the Arkansas game every year. It's almost always our first SEC game, so that sort adds some implications to it. We've beaten them three years running, so we are probably running up against our longest streak against them now, since their joining the league in 1992. Not that it has anything to do with it. I do feel like we've essentially run in time with them since our winning the title in 1992, with the exception of since 2008, we've run well ahead of them, obviously. I'd be willing to bet our records overall, and in conference, are very close, excluding the 1992 and 2009 seasons. I'm sure there are a number of programs in the conference who have been consistently better than their program since 1992, but I don't think ours has CONSISTENTLY been better.

Just thinking back, without checking the records, I think we hold a sizeable series advantage since 1992. But again, there have been some very close games (with the notable exceptions of the past 2 years). In the three seasons I was at Alabama, they beat us twice. Although the 1995 edition was an officiating oversight.

It's a highwatermark for our program every year. If we beat them, which I think we will, handily, we usually go on to a great 10 win season or better. If we lose....it can go either way at that point. This years' Tide team won't be fazed by an upset somewhere along the way. We already have 3 wins in the bank, and I feel certain I can guarantee wins versus Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miss State, and Ga State. I'm less certain of Florida, SC, LSU, and Auburn, but see no reason why we can't win them all.

They're a good group over there at Hogville.net. You can't blame them for getting excited about the game. They're just being fans. It's all done in good fun.

Let them have their week of delusions.......They live in Arkansas so what else do they have to get excited about?

I can't understand how any of them watched that Georgia game and still expect them to beat us....:headscratch:

You guys better hope the almighty Nick Saban can magically invent a pass rush on Saturday that being said I don't think we're the one's that delusional
Magically invent a pass rush?? WTF are you smoking.

you forget last year when we were rushing DB's @ mallet and putting him on his ass the whole game or
does that equation just not compute there hogbrains?
As for this year....Hightower is going to clobber your boy ever chance he gets. And if he don't get him Dump Truck (Marcell) will.
They will be in his grill all day long. count on it.

God i miss the Master Computer. where is he when we need him? lol

Just read all of what they have posted over there. They sure are beating their chests because they beat Georgia, as if that was one of the best teams in the country. Aren't they 1-2, 0-2 in the SEC? Was their best player playing? Did they have Matthew Stafford at qb? Easily the worst team in GA history under Richt. But because they eeked out a win against that hapless Ga team (who almost came back to win), they think they are the team to beat. There sure were a lot of "ifs" in their reasoning - "if we play mistake free" and "if they can't put pressure on Mallett" and "if we can stop their run game", the list went on and on, "then we have a shot." Pretty amusing stuff right there.

two of the funniest statements that i read in that thread are

1. Dareus is over-hyped. HAHAHAHAH if anything, he is probably under-hyped

2. Georgia's OLine is just as good as Alabama's. HAHAAH then how come uga's running game looks like a bunch of sissies with sprained wrists out there. they couldn't run the ball if their life depended on it.

The thing about Nick Saban is that he gets blitz happy in big games and big situations. We havent done that much this year, and though we havent gotten pressure, you arent swupposed to with zone coverage schemes. At max, we have sent 1 guy to help out. Most of us expect him to open the playbook like he usuallly does except whewn we mount an early lead, which is what we have been doing.

Basically, if we arent throwing crap we havent shown this season at Mallet, itd probably be because we are up big. We can do tohat, opur o is very very good, and hasnt shown much either.

Yeah, I got a kick out of that one myself. Georgia will be lucky to win any of their remaining SEC games this season.

EDIT: If they want to talk over-hyped or over rated, well that's what I was thinking they whole time I watched them play the leghumpers last weekend!

Watching Arkansas and Georgia was just painful to me, last Saturday, so I didn't watch much of it. same goes for Ole Miss and Vandy. Arkansas isn't the worst team of that four, but three of them are the worst teams. SEC East should be the winner of FL-SC, with Tennessee, Vandy, and UGA fighting for last. Kentucky should be the #3 team in that conference. Amazing to even be able to say that, what with Vandy and UK being at the bottom for so many years.

The West will come down to Alabama or Auburn, of course, with LSU having some say in the matter. MISS, MISS STATE, and AKRANSAW (intentional misspelling) will continue to suck, together, in peace.

I'm certainly excited about the game but Mallet still has yet to impress me when he plays a solid defense. I mean East Carolina made him look silly in the bowl game. Maybe he has changed since then...

Anyway, the best way you beat the pigs is by keeping Mallet on the bench & I'll take my odds on that happening considering their defense (who hasn't played an offensive juggernaut yet) playing up against our offense. Frankly, I think the pigs will get beat like a teenage pecker on Saturday.

You know it seems funny every year some idiot comes over here and talks trash saying this and that about how bad they gonna whoop us but, after we kick arkys behind we don't ever hear from them anymore. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you because after Saturday you wont be back here.

The Arky fans seem to think that it's all about Mallet having a good game, but the Bama offense is no joke this year, we could roll up 38 or 45 points on them easy.
And even with a young secondary our defense isn't going to just totally collapse, I'm thinking 38-13 Bama.

I guess anything can happen in a road SEC game, but we may be even better this year than last, i don't think we will lose to a half decent Arky team.

I went over to the Hog site too, and guys, I recant all that I said about "Rammer Jammer". I am with you. (I'm not mocking either; I'm serious). I say let them have it with both barrels. I cannot believe they are delusional enough to think this is going to be an easy piggy win.

This site and that site are complete night and day. Well, some of the guys seem semi-okay, so these sites are like dusk and day.

Hogville is to Arky as Tidefans is to Bama. You can't take either site seriously as most poster are koolaid drinkers.

They have all the reason in the world to believe they can win though. This will be Bama's toughest test this year imo.
