Was O.J. Howard Alabama's greatest tight end? Youngsters may not remember that Ozzie Newsome played wide receiver back in the day.
Speaking as someone who went up against Ozzie everyday, I’ll confirm he was split wide the overwhelming time. He was big enough to move into the TE position or start in the TE position and move out wide. (In case you’re wondering, he bettered me more than I bettered him, but I had my moments )I played with a pretty good one, Lamonde Russell. He was undersized for a blocker, but man he had some soft hands and could catch anything. As far as best overall, I would agree that Howard Cross was that guy. Great in-line blocker and good hands, ended with a very successful career in the NFL.
Ozzie was a WR here but transitioned to TE in the NFL.
Clemson DCLet's not forget that OJ help Bama win a NC in 2016. How could he be that wide open that many times?

About as many times as he blocked his entire time at Bama.Let's not forget that OJ help Bama win a NC in 2016. How could he be that wide open that many times?
Early in OJ’s career, he was a liability when not running routes.Let's not forget that OJ help Bama win a NC in 2016. How could he be that wide open that many times?
