💬 Was "Hooters" the first nationally recognized "sports bar?" Of the two times I went there, the last was to watch a baseball game...

It was Apple South and yes it was the corporate function of Applebees (the group you bought a franchise from and then paid royalties to). Applebees is now owned by Dine Brands which also owns IHOP
Yep. That's it!

The best outfit they had was "Hops." I've tried to replicate their "Walkers Wood" sauce...some degree of success. Everything they served was "home made;" even their meatloaf was pretty good.

The beer wasn't too bad either (when they only brewed and served their own.) I swear that place started going downhill as soon as they started serving domestics (name brand.)

The wings? Come on. There's nothing special about those. You probably get better flavor from the frozen section at Family Dollar; certainly the 7-11.
The naked Daytona wings are spot on!!!

That’s really the only ones I care for at hooters. Since they’ve down graded the requirements for the waitresses, don’t go. However the Pensacola beach, and Jacksonville locations still have some “talent”. From what I understand.

Probably wouldn't be eating at Twin Peaks if you heard about some of the nastiness. They share uniforms and let's just say some aren't as clean as others. Knew a gal that worked at one a while ago and her stories have me not going there.
My sister-in-law work at Shoney's in Nashville. She told us some stuff that the other waitress and waiter would do.

One of the things I liked about "Hops" was the openness of their kitchen. Their brewery and kitchen were encased by glass walls; easy to see how clean they kept the place. The only thing in the kitchen that wasn't stainless steel was the floor.
They had a "Hops" in Lakeland FL back in the day. I used to frequent it while visiting an aunt and uncle that that live down there. "Lightning Bold Gold" draft with some chicken fingers. 🤤
