at Miss State. I believe he is a good guy and a credit to the coaching
ranks. I enjoyed him at the Capstone during those couple years he was
here. I wish him success...................except against the Tide !!!!!!!!!

Dan Mullen has put together a good staff in Starkville. I'm not sure how high he'll be able to get them, but he's the best thing they've had in quite a while.
Yea I liked Torbush but he had crazy good players to work with here. Moorehead, King, Johnson, Odom, Daniels, Wortham, DeMeco, Roach, Peprah, Harper, Bacon, Dixon, etc.
Yeah, even Torbush's teams at Bama didn't exactly shut down the opponents. We gave up a fair amount of yards and points to opponents. I like the guy, I think he's intense, and I think he's a good coach. But he cannot compare to a head coach who is defensive minded like Stallings was or Saban is.

In 2002 we ended up ranked #1 in total defense in the SEC, #1 in rushing defense, #2 in scoring defense, #5 in pass defense and 4th in pass defense efficiency.
That was a pretty damn good ball team. Heck even on offense Florida ended up only edging us out by around three yards in total offense or we would have led the SEC in that category as well.
What glory days did Mack Brown ever have at North Carolina? He had a relative amount of success there if you consider a winning percentage of right at .600 success. But, never won squat. (Hell, he's still only won one conference title in his entire career.)
But, yes he was. He took over the program for three seasons after Brown left. He was fired at the end of the 2000 season and took our DC job in 2001.
