🏈 Vols QB leaves team

From what I can gather, it seems like he was getting beat out by undeclassman QB Matt Simms, and bolted.

I don't see this as much of a loss for UT, except for depth purposes, but they sure have lost a lot this offseason...LOL, and they didn't have a lot to begin with. Maybe it's just me but I think the Vols are in for a LONG....LONG season.

They lost their 3 best defensive players (with no depth behind them) - and now their make-shift O-Line loses their best player, by far...their top 2 RB's from last year are gone...and now a potential starting or 2nd string QB bolts.

I respect Dooley much more than Kiffin, but Kiffin didn't leave Dooley much to work with...if Dooley makes it I'd be surprised.

I think if UT fans are patient with Dooley, he will be a great coach. and hopefully they learned their lesson about patience

I keep hearing people say that they think that Dooley will be a successful coach at UT. All I know about the man is that he coached at La Tech, where he was mediocre at best...he used to be a lawyer, and his dad was a legendary coach at UGA.

Not trying to spark up an argument here, because I don't know about the man other than what I listed above....but I just don't see it.

I hated Tennessee more than Auburn while Fulmer was there, but now that he's gone, I'm back to hating Auburn more. Florida moves into #2 behind Auburn. Then UT.

Dooley will ultimately be measured by how he does againt Florida and Alabama, whom he plays each year. They are both the measurement stick teams by which all coaches will be judged in this league. At Tennessee, you can lose your job for losing too much to those two schools. I'd say Auburn is pretty similar in that respect to how they do against Bama.

Tennessee will probably not get to .500 this year.
