🏈 Virginia Teams vs. Alabama

Well, we all know that Clemson didn't do too well last season. They folded like a cheap lawn chair. VT is known for choking too. 'Bama, on the other hand, is getting to be known for strong starts.

Clemson and Virginia Tech, two teams from the northeast corner of Virginia, two teams destined to have history with 'Bama. Another team from Virginia, one not always on the tip of the tongue, West Virginia. They will be a contender in the Big East again very soon.

Let's talk about some other Midwestern powerhouses, take Notre Dame as an example. Illinois provides all the players that ND needs or ever will need. Notre Dame, a Catholic college built in the 1500's, is nestled neatly within the top left hand corner of the state of Illinois. Long a bastion of championship level football, they recently have fallen and rather hardly.

But, alas, they are still a good team to have on the schedule. I would love for Alabama to play this storied Illinois institution. Coach Saban offered an invitation to them but, they declined.

Of course, we have the Penn State Nittany Lions lined up. That will be a wonderful match-up. Seems Coach Saban is partial to teams close to his original western Virginia home.

Notre Dame is in Indiana. I love playing big teams to start the season, as long as we win. It makes the off season more intense when the players are preparing for VA Tech rather than East Carolina. I very much look forward to playing the Nittany Lions.

I would love to see Coach Saban show some interest in some teams who are on the way up, like Rutgers. That would be a great series. It isn't that far for 'Bama fans to travel to Kentucky and the same with their fans coming to Tuscaloosa.

Notre Dame is in Illinois. It's okay, I make those kind of silly mistakes all the time.

Notre Dame is in South Bend, Indiana. I agree with you, I like to play the up and coming teams, but I'd much rather schedule the traditional powers. USC, Michigan, ND, PSU, Oklahoma, Texas...

New Jersey or Kentucky:lance:

You did get Va Tech being from Virginia however:td:

Living here in VA about an hour and a half from Blacksburg its tough. Every day at the gym I hear about how VT is going to dog Bama. One guy said that it will probably be about 31-10. They keep saying how this TB that is a redshirt freshman is the real deal and how there is no way that Julio Jones will beat them. Man how I can not wait until September.
