It'll be awhile before we see you again.

Stallings is headed to Pitt to replace Dixon ... and Vandy hires Trent Johnson.

Dumbfounded. Literally, and figuratively, dumbfounded.

The Vandy people that I know have not been happy with Stallings over the last two or three seasons, though I am not sure why. Perhaps that had something to do with his decision. From a conference perspective, the ACC defimitely is to be preferred to the SEC in basketball. Half the Elite 8 is from that league, and the way he brackets fell, they are guaranteed two in the Final Four and one in the championship game.

@psychojoe When it comes to head coaching hires, I'd be willing to wager 9 of 10 times when you've got a fan base complaining, and wanting their coach gone, it's not a sign of future success at his new gig. Stallings may be an outlier here. He certainly hasn't done a horrible job in Nashville and he's certainly stepping into a more fertile recruiting territory at Pitt. Based on that, if I were a Pitt fan, I could find reason for optimism.

Now, if I were a 'Dore fan? I couldn't escape the fact he's only won eight conference games over a four year period. Eight! They've finished in last place in the Big 12 three of four years, finishing ninth in '14-'15.

(On a side note: One thing Trent has in his favor ... he hasn't lost as many games as Pearl has over the last two years.)
