This is my last post I am killing myself. I can't live in a world where mormons beat bama. I hate this world. roll tide and best to all on this board!

You'll be happy to know that of the two major Utah schools (BYU & Utah) Utah is NOT the Mormon school. In fact we have the "Holy War" at the end of every season and we are quite proud of our Sinners vs Saints battle.

Utah deserves no lower than a #3 ranking... possibly #2 depending on the outcome of the UF/OU game. They really surprised me tonight, especially their QB play. I knew Smitty being out would hurt us, and it did, but then losing Johnson was a killer. Utah really turned up the heat and was able to exploit the Line after that.

Congratulation as well.

I say they must end up at #3. No way, no how #2. #3 because they deserve better than #4, but don't deserve #2. The BCS NC match up is what it is because they are the best two teams. Because the #2 loses to a #1 does not mean that the #3 could have done any better. It means that they are indeed #2.

Again, congrats to the Utes.

Out of curiosity, who would earn the #2 over Utah? I suppose I could (grudgingly) accept Texas if (and only if) they blow out OSU. USC has a tough argument, despite the nonsense Pete Carrol's been spouting. The MWC was obviously better than the Pac-10 this year, and we beat the one team they lost to.

Probably what infuriates me most is the fact that if Utah played the exact same schedule, and won by the exact same scores, but played their games as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, there is little doubt in my mind that they would be the #1 team in the country by a UNANIMOUS vote by the pollsters. If this system is going to decide the best team in the country, then decide it based on what has happened this year, not because of the damn name on the front of the jersey.

Congrats Utes. You guys came over here saying you just wanted respect from the upper tier of the football world, and you've certainly got it now.

The thing that impressed me most was not the fast start. It looked to me like things had started to tilt our way by half time. The defense seemed to have restored order, we had gotten the big special teams play to get back in shouting distance. Then our D came out and turned you over to start the second half, and the offense found enough life to get into the end zone, making it 21-17. It felt like all would soon be right with the world. Then you took the ensuing kick off and marched it right down our throats to put the lead back at two scores. That showed me a lot about the character of your team and your coach. Well done, Utes.

Congrats to the Utah Utes. You outplayed our beloved Tide in EVERY facet of the game last night. You dominated an Alabama team like no one has been able to do this year. Last night you were the better team.

I must say that the Alabama fans here are a class bunch with their comments and congratulations for Utah's effort last night.

I'm not a Utah grad. I got my MBA from USC, and I'm actually a UCLA fan, as my wife went there for undergrad. My older brother and younger sister went to Utah on swimming and tennis scholarships, respectively. So that makes me a Utah fan too. Actually, I'm simply a big fan of college football and I sorta like rooting for the underdogs in the truest sense of the word.

As Barry Switzer said "there is not a single player on Utah's team that Alabama would have bothered to recruit". During the televised game they repeatedly replayed that quote much to his embarrassment. However, he was actually correct in stating that. Utah does not get the 5 star recruits. Utah lives off 3 star and 2 star recruits. They have to develop those players. That is why you don't see Utah at the top every year. If they lose starters, the guys on the pine are works in progress. Utah is not a USC, Florida or Alabama where the next guy off the pine is a 5 star recruit who is basically ready to go, or he transfers for lack of playing time. No, what you see in Utah is player development and that comes from really good coaching.

I see that a lot of you are confirming what I saw on the tube, which is that Utah's defense played with unbelievable speed and fury. I was surprised as I'm sure Alabama was.

Thanks for all the comments of respect for Utah's effort last night. I hope that this shows that without a doubt that there are other programs out there than just those from the annointed BCS Conferences. Hopefully, they abolish this stupid BCS system and just adopt a playoff system where it's truly decided on the field.

If I may say one final thing, God I wish Utah could play USC on a neutral field and shut them arrogant Trojan fans up.

biggest game you will ever win congrats!
enjoy but please don't act like BSU did 2 years ago be humble and enjoy! Bama was out played! period!

Certainly the biggest win to we have ever had but I really think that the Utes are getting better every year. This team is better than the Urban Meyer team where we go stuck with a joke Pitt team in the Fiesta bowl.

I think that in time the Utes will make a statement beyond this game. You guys lost big guys on the D line.
That would have made a difference though I still think we would have won. This is not to brag but we were definitely a much quicker team. Yeah, we could have lost but the game would have been a nail biter if we did.

Go Utes!!! Go Crimson Tide...I am now a fan.

Yep congrats on the holds that went unflaged, the chop blocks you got away with.... ect etc ect.

Class....didn't seem to act like ya'll had much but..that's ok. how bout next time you guys act like you've been there before.....OH WAIT...that's right....YOU HAVEN'T.

the stats tell the story:

Bama 4 sacks
U of U 8.

Andre Smith has only allowed 1 sack his entire carrer. One can only wonder.....

out side of that..if i write what's on my mind i'll get banned. So..good game utes.

Truly hilarious...There were no more cheap shots than a normal game has. I think the refs called a good and fair game.

You lost...that is the whole point. You have a fantastic team and it was not your day. Face it.
It was a game and you could have won but you did not.
Please!

No one is bragging about the win. It was a good win for us and it sucked for you.

You are still the legend Alabama team and you deserve to be. Utah is learning the ropes of playing at this level.

No, no, a thousand times no. They should have already been ranked #1. I completely disagree that the BCS NC matchup is, or should be, between the two best teams. The World Series isn't between the two best teams, is it? And we don't want it that way, do we? If it was, in 1993, the Braves and Giants would have played each other in the World Series. The Giants clearly had the second best team in all of baseball with 103 wins, only one game worse than the Braves' 104, and the Giants weren't even in the playoffs.

This is as close to winning the NC on the field as you can get. Take all the legitimate contenders to the NC: Alabama, Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, Penn State, Ohio State. Ohio State loses to Penn State and USC...Penn State and USC advance. Penn State loses to USC...USC advances. USC loses to Oregon State...Oregon State advances. Oklahoma loses to Texas...Texas advances. Texas loses to Texas Tech...Texas Tech advances. Florida and Texas Tech lose to Ole Miss...Ole Miss advances. Ole Miss loses to Alabama...Alabama advances. Oregon State and Alabama lose to Utah...Utah advances. They are the only team left standing. They win the NC. No other team deserves it.

It might be a different story if we had three perfect teams...like Okla, USC, and Alabama Poly. But we don't. We only have one. Every other contending team lost to another one in a chain that only leaves one team standing...Utah. I know that's not the way the BCS operates, but we all know that, even though it may be better than the old days, it's still screwed up.

Utah is the only team that deserves to call themselves the NC. In my opinion, it isn't even up for debate.

Utah earned my respect for sure Friday night. Congrats on the BCS win. I think a playoff needs to be considered now.

Also, im not really proud of the prick that said you guys weren't classy, chop blocks, etc......take the loss man and move on.

Anyway, great game....you guys were focused and ready....we were not.

Roll tide.

Skiny, you are totally right! This is probably the best eye-opening remark about the bias of BIG-TIME programs. ND isn't even in a conference & if they played that schedule they'd be the NC.
