I like the coaches poll better than the AP I think. Maybe it's my crimson glasses, but I don't see how LSU jumps us, I understand they beat Oregon and we beat Kent State, but...

I don't have a major issue with LSU jumping us. First of all, it will work itself out when we play in November, secondly, they did beat the then #3 team (even though they were a bit overated) and we beat Kent St. I know a win is a win and so on but to me the top 3 teams at this point are almost interchangeable. LSU looked pretty dang good as well so it isn't as if an inferior team jumped us. And before someone asks....if Oregon had beaten LSU and looked good doing it, I would not have had a major issue with Oregon jumping us either.

I don't think we should have rankings until week three at least anyway but that is just me.

I thought LSU looked good, the offense took a bit to get going but their defense looked fast and swarmed to the ball. As for Oregon, to me, it looked like they were simply overpowered.

Oregon is a good team but matched up with a great SEC team they are out maned... Oregon might even lose to Vandy.. As far as LSU they did look like a championship caliber team...I expected them to jump us in the polls..I hope both teams are undefeated come NOV 5th Roll Tide

Here's another way to look at it. We lost five points. Considering these polls are done on a points system we did drop, a little. LSU gained @60 something points from last week. They deserved those. It's just the way the numbers work themselves out, ya know?

LSU:

I saw a trademark of a John Chavis defense I've expected. Reckless play with lack of concentration. It'll come back to bite that defense a few times this year. Once they get punched in the mouth in successive series they'll get worse and end up helping their opponent win.

I agree. Not so much that they were a force on both sides of the ball, but they took care of the little things like champions do. They forced and/or took advantage of turnovers. They had what 3 TD's on turnovers? That's exactly what you want! They also didn't let all the off-the-field distractions get to them. It didn't seem to phase them. They came out focused and confident. It reminded me of how we played two years ago vs. Va. Tech. It was obviously different circumstances but a statement win nonetheless. I'm actually jealous, that's all.
