what do you guys think I know we are all Bama fans here. I wont mind seeing them do decent they have a few games in 2009 all home games for the first two years will be free admission seeing how they are playing a partial schedule. What amazes me is that they jumped right in to division 1. I know its the Sunbelt Conference I think its gonna be nice to get out to see some more college games seeing how I cant make it to all of Bamas games. They got a decent head coach in Joey Jones and he seems to have a decent staff.

I am behind it 100%! I hope they build a program in Mobile so that we can go catch a college football game on Saturdays without having to drive 3 hrs. I also think we will see that there is ALOT of talent in the immediate area that does not get recognized or gets lost in the shuffle. South is doing it right, imo...Kinda like Troy St./South Fl, imo. Not bad for the tax base either :D

Hope Joey & South does well. He's a hometown hero. I grew up with South Alabama having Coach Eddie Stankey & baseball getting all the news...I've been away from Mobile for years so I don't know how it is today but I think she'll support the team just fine. Afterall anyone is better than Auburn!

I think given time...the program will prosper and do very well. People in this part of the state are eager to have a hometown college level team to cheer on and have a place close by to attend games with the kids. I think Joey is a class act and will be able to recruit well enough to be competative immediately. I wish the program only the best.

Not a huge fan of the school but I hope the team does well. A lot of people compare them to UAB but Mobile knows how to run football programs, and with only one school they will get a ton of support.

I would love for the city on the 27th when they unveil their new plans to tell me they are tearing down the Civic Center and are building a sweet 60,000 seat stadium downtown. :)

There is a lot of talent down there that gets passed over and I expect them to contend soon. They have already been contacted by a few SEC teams about playing the first eyar they6 move to DI.

I went to South for a semester in the fall of '93 before tranfering to UA the next semester. I'm happy for them. That campus seemed to be missing that buzz in the fall. That thing that brings everyone together. I was always going up to Tuscalossa to visit and go to games, since I was so bored down there. I guess thats one reason I transfered. Anyway, Was a little surprised thet went D1 right off the bat, so good luck....Go Jags!

I think it's great and hope they build an on-campus stadium in the next 5-6 years.

Here's some info: South Alabama will play Tennessee, Ole Miss and Notre Dame in the future and also has a home and home with Navy. Schedule should be released soon. Look for a lot of games scheduled around Bama and Auburn

as far as recruiting goes we won't go head to head on many/any recruits and lose out on.

I also attended South and Alabama. It's nice to have something close by to go watch as well.

I hope they do go also.
