šŸˆ Unitas Golden Arm Award Winner- Pitt's Kenny Pickett

But pickett over osu QB?

Pickett does not have the weapons Stroud had. I go back to Stroud struggling early the in year, hence the loss to Oregon. He "sat out" a game because he was playing poorly although they attempted to say it was for rest. I don't want to use his receivers against him, because the ball still has to get to them among a ton of other factors, but I was never impressed with him like I was with Bryce and Pickett. Stroud beating up on Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, and Minnesota. The Michigan State game carried him and he was impressive, but they are also almost last in pass defense in the entire country. Pickett's competition wasn't much better, but he also did it with a lot less. Pickett also won a conference championship for his school for the first time. Stroud did not. It's splitting hairs at this point, but when these guys stats are up on a wall with no name beside them, you're having to get deep to decide the difference between them.

Good comparison....
I did that only for comparisons sake. I wasn't suggesting anything by the post.
All awards are ā€œanyone but Bamaā€ awards. Really hit me last year when our perfect kicker got snubbed. I’m shocked that fat boy from UGA didn’t win the Nagurski.
I don't believe this is the case here. The Unitas award goes to "...upperclassman of the year."
What I've noticed in years past is that this award seems to play out as a "2nd place" award for the runner up to the Heisman if a QB is favored for the stiffarm trophy
How many times have these second place guys ended up being younger than the winner?

The Ray Guy has a minimum of punts, right? This one indicates an age qualifier.

Osu this year had same qroup of receiver quailty as bama had last few years.
Comparble but not as good as bamas

I agree. I try not using that against him because it's not fair to him and guys like Mac, but Pickett and Bryce did it with less acclaimed receivers. I'd take Metchie and Williams over Olave and Wilson, but that's my preference. We know the media was in love with Ohio State and their receivers. I'm just not sold on Stroud.

We had two 1000+ yard receivers. That is impressive anytime and with any QB.
