"Sharrif talked to us the next day and said Ohio State is great and all, but Coach Meyer said he would DIE for me. That's pretty intense. From that day on Sharrif mainly kept to himself. But that was the turning point in my eyes."
My question is where are the adults looking after this kid to do something as simple as say "Really? I have to wonder, does it make sense that he would die for you, but tell his children that he would not live for them?" Or to ask, "He retired, but for a day. He would not die for the guys who have played for him for 4 years, but he's willing to die for you? How are you more special than all those player, or is he feeding you a load?"
Further, its sad that this would happen often enough for this to be a "tactic".
