"If you don't have a ticket for Saturday's SEC matchup between Alabama and Georgia in Athens, university officials are asking you don't come close to campus.

Heavy rains have drenched the Athens area over the last week and with more rain in the forecast, one of the largest overflow parking lots on campus — the natural turf intramural fields — will not be available.

The university warns that with the complex off College Station Road unavailable Saturday there will be about 2,000 fewer parking spaces open to fans. The school usually makes room for about 15,000 vehicles across campus.

For Saturday's game, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m., Georgia has arranged for fans who present tickets to the game to ride Athens Transit System buses free of charge."

UGA warns of limited parking for Alabama game

"Alabama fans are encouraged to ride on buses together," said University President Jere Morehead. "We have certain buses designated for them, and we have special drivers."

Alabama officials have privately displayed concern after Morehead expressed outrage following the 2008 game when students made numerous jokes about his name, which they thought was appropriate due to the promiscuousness of Georgia coeds.

"I'm just worried the buses won't ever make it to the stadium," said one Alabama official who requested anonymity. "I've heard of them (UGA) hiring old, old bus drivers who get lost and drive around the city for hours and hours. I'd hate to see that happen to our fans."

Morehead's vindictive nature has been called into question before. South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier's comments at media days in 2012 led to a UGA boycott of feminine hygiene products that persists to this day.

Requesting a response to the matter, Morehead's office said they would be in touch with us as soon as possible, or when a really hot place turned cold. This outlet has not heard from them as of yet.

Okay, did anyone realize I just invented that entire previous post? Pulled it out of thin air. Satire.

I am crying over here
