Classy move. It's ridiculous how a chippy and at times out of control football game spills over into the spectators and they feel compelled to do something like this. It was one thing to hate a football team, get into the rivalry, etc. But institutional hatred is another matter. Setting a tree on fire that so many people are around/under could've potentially injurred numerous people. Stuff like this is sad.

A member over at AUF said her boyfriend works at a bar down the street from Toomer's (now I sound like an ESPN reporter!) and the person responsible for this had a very, very rough night. There were some arrests last night, I don't know for sure if the guy that started the fire was among them. From what I gather, the dude got the absolute hell knocked out of him.

It seems like I remember a very, very drunk Alabama fan attempting to do this at one point. 2007, maybe?

People like that do not deserve to be called fans. I know that most of the trouble is from the "kids" from the different schools and (I am about to sound like my father!) you can bet too much alcohol is coursing through them. Behavior like that is just unacceptable and people caught doing such should never be allowed back into a college football stadium.

This looks like the work of more then one person. It took a couple of people a sweet minute to ignite all that toilet paper.

Classless, but keep in mind, it's UGA fans. They tore some flags or something down at Bryant Denny after they won in overtime. So I can imagine a couple of pissed off dawg fans with way too much to drink could be dangerous!

It's a shame anytime crap like this happens, whether it's over a win or a loss. Riots after a team wins a championship are ridiculous and shows how close to animals people can be when surrounded by other morons.

:lance:OMG How can anyone expect a live tree to catch fire from a piece of toilet paper? Only way that would have a chance to catch on fire would be if the tree was dried up and dead.:rofl::rofl::rofl: And it was only the toilet paper that was burning.

You do realize that heat from fire such as, oodles of toilet paper (note the amount of TP, far more than "a piece"), can dry out wood and facilitate the burning of the tree? Nice try attempting to mock someone--next time know what you're talking about.

The term "tree" was a generalized statement as the toilet paper was on the tree. Nice try, sparky.

Going to insult another person here.
I think i've about had all of you i can put up with.

So little attention given to football games, and so little attention given to things that really matter. I guess that's what Saturdays in the South are for now...forgetting the rest of the world, and acting like a goddam idiot. Auburn's got plenty of them, so does Georgia. And we have our fair share in Tuscaloosa too.
