It’s generational! As
@alabama mike alluded to, a lot come from less than ideal situations. It’s all they have ever known and likely ever taught as home, so it’s their goal or simply all that they think they can truly accomplish. When I still in education, our system did a deep dive into the poverty our system dealt with and still deals with today. Single parent homes, living in fixed income housing, getting checks from the government and some see that as normal, the best they can do. Flash money their way and it’s quickly spent on items desired, not needed. Money is quickly gone and they still sit where they started or they are in a worse situation.
If their grandmother did it and momma does it, aunts do it, they see it as their only choice.
