🏈 Ty Simpson, a dying breed...

It is 2026

At what point does this group actually take responsibility for their situation?
It’s generational! As @alabama mike alluded to, a lot come from less than ideal situations. It’s all they have ever known and likely ever taught as home, so it’s their goal or simply all that they think they can truly accomplish. When I still in education, our system did a deep dive into the poverty our system dealt with and still deals with today. Single parent homes, living in fixed income housing, getting checks from the government and some see that as normal, the best they can do. Flash money their way and it’s quickly spent on items desired, not needed. Money is quickly gone and they still sit where they started or they are in a worse situation.
If their grandmother did it and momma does it, aunts do it, they see it as their only choice.

They f up everything they touch, and it is already documented.

I had 3 former coworkers that came from that and did well. The problem I have seen though, those kids in that current environment wouldn’t listen to me or other teachers of my skin color, because we didn’t come from that. Meanwhile, those that did, wouldn’t lift a hand to help them or say, “Hey! I’ve been there, done that and came out on the good side!”

This helps Simpson... I mentioned a few weeks ago he had a $10 million+ deal on the table to return, plus Oregon and Nike was going to do some other stuff for him like a Heisman campaign push. His reps recommended he still turn pro as he'd have been a top 5 pick, but they let him make the final call. He has decided to return.

I hope these guys have good representation and they don't piss it all away.
