Turkey Season

So, how was the turkey hunting this year in Bama Land? Here in Arkansas we had a very early Spring and for the most part the Gobblers were finished by the time season came in. A lot of people claim that weather has no bearing on breeding activity but I think the "informed" hunter will disagree greatly!

I only got to go once this year and the birds had lock-jaw where I was. General consensus with all the hunters I know where in line with what Lance said. Good early, but crappy later. I think the mild winter did push everything forward. I generally have better luck later in the season because the hens have already been bred and they head to nest when they hit the ground in the mornings. That just leaves me and the horny old gobblers that still have the need to breed.
