Tubberville gets new gig: ap wire
Auburn, Georgia
Auburn old coach Tommy Tubberville will have a new job soon. Because he is still under contract with Auburn, they have found a new way for him to earn his salary, but this time he will do something different. Tubberville will be replacing the eagle that has been a long tradition of Auburn. Instead of the eagle flying in before all the games; Coach Tubberville will go to the highest point in Jordan's-Hairy stadium, flap his huge ears, and fly down to mid-field to receive his check.
Auburn president Jay Gogue was asked and this is what he said. "Well we had to find something for him to do and still earn his money. We thought this is something he could do and not find a way to screw it up......We may also get him to run around the standium holding his fingers in the air or wave a towel in the air. It seems to be the only thing he is good at."
Tommy Tubberville stated, "Shoot, I am just happy to be doing something so I can have my name visible for my next coaching stop. Things could be worse. I might still be a coach in the SEC and Saban could be kicking my azz every year.....You know, I think with a little extra duck hunting every year, I may have beaten Saban once every ten years or so; but who knows. I am just glad I had all those sports writers in my back pocket all those years or it could have been a lot worse."
Auburn officials have stated the new tradition will start next year and run until Tubberville remaining contract has run out. More news as this develops.
