🏈 #TuaForHeisman season stat tracking thread

It's funny, some of the stats sites are telling the story that Kyler's yards in the 4th quarter are all running yards. They're comparing 3 QTRs of play to 3 QTRs of play.

To your point above, what they fail to realize, what would Tua's numbers look like if he played the additional ~172 mins (<< that's almost 3 games).

Let me say that again in bold larger font for effect...

Kyler Murray has played ~172 mins more than Tua. Almost THREE games of playing time.

@planomateo, OU has a campaign going for Murray. There was a tweet I looked at from yesterday, I believe, and a web site dedicated to his "bid" as well. I didn't look at it in depth...I the tweet looked real.

It was a direct comparison of Murray to Tua--with a few categories missing.

LOL, they've already lost if they're comparing Kyler to Tua. FAIL...

^^ Add minutes per game, INTs per game, lame duck Big XII competition per game, letting Army take you behind the woodshed, etc.
I've seen mentioned there's not that much of a discrepancy between the number of attempts from Murray to Tua. And that's true. Tua has 237 compared to Murray's 279. (It came up Tuesday with a Penn State fan which thought was odd, where's their dog in the fight?) That's also where I called a time out.

If we're going simply by the numbers, and here were going to use attempts, let's translate that...

What does that add to Tua's numbers, giving him 279 attempts as well with his current statistics?

Murray has six INT's and Tua has two. Being fair, let's put Tua at three.

Passing TD's. 34 to 31, Murray. With that many more attempts we'll need to add four, maybe five to Tua. 36/34. Not as big, but still.

All things being equal ... in that one number and it's still Tua.

Kyler is hella talented, no doubt about it. The fact that he has similar numbers to his predecessor kinda devalues his numbers in my opinion.

Give the guy a baseball award ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing Kyler and Tua standing next to each other, curious just how tall Kyler really is. I never watched him play at Allen High School.

The Heisman's luster was diminished the last few years due to some of the winners: Cam and pay per play stories and Johnny Manziel and every other story imaginable. I saw dozens of people mention that the foundation had lost some of its focus on what's required of a Heisman winner--character being of very little consequence.

I learned something else today. Evidently, one of the requirements of the trophy is to have a "Heisman moment."

Tua needs to have monster games against awbarn and jawja to win the Heisman. Additionally, an OU loss to Texas would help. Kyler has the luxury of playing against teams with no d@mn defense, thus putting up incredible numbers. Its ridiculous! Watching that game was just about as frustrating as watching the Rams vs the Chiefs several days ago. I eventually turned away from both games. BAMA's second team defense would put up a better showing than any BIG 12 team.
