FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football players Maudrecus Humphrey, Marquel Wade and Andrew Peterson were arrested Saturday, charged with residential burglary.
The three were booked into the Washington County Detention Center around noon Saturday after being arrested by University of Arkansas police.
According to the arrest report, the three stole multiple items - including cash, laptops, DVDs and textbooks - valuing $4,817 from university dorm rooms beginning May 1. Over the next seven days, UAPD received 10 reports of missing items from dorm rooms in all four building of the Northwest Quads dormitory.
Surveillance camera video from May 2 shows all three walking the hallways of Northwest Quads, Building B and entering unlocked rooms, according to the report. On May 9, a clerk at the Campus Bookstore on Dickson Street told police the three men had exchanged textbooks for cash multiple times throughout the week.
Textbooks and other stolen property were recovered from Peterson's suite in the Northwest Quads, according to the report.
Humphrey and Peterson were each charged with nine counts of burglary, while Wade was charged with one count.
Humphrey and Wade, both 20-years-old, are wide receivers at Arkansas, while Peterson, 19, is a tight end. All three have hearings scheduled for Monday.
The Razorbacks football team has had six arrests in less than two months. Offensive lineman Jason Peacock was arrested on March 16 and charged with felony theft of property; receiver Kane Whitehurst was arrested April 2 on drug possession charges; and linebacker Tyler Gilbert was arrested April 17 on charges of felony aggravated burglary.
