🏈 🏆 The College Football Playoffs 2025-'26. The final week.

A&M out. It's UGA. So, if things go as expected this afternoon we'll see Bama vs UGA, in ATL, again. And, for the second time this season.

Here's one of my complaints about the expanded playoffs becoming true in year two. We are staring down the possibility of Bama and UGA playing three times this season.

You want to see the playoff committee struggle with seedings? They'll try to avoid that.

Now. Let's assume a UA win over UGA in the SECCG. It would likely mean Bama is in the top four, #3 or #4. It would require the committee to put UGA at 7, 8, 9, or 10 to avoid a rematch. Is that seeding teams fairly? No. It's a clusterfuck.

On top of this one...what's the committee do with OU? If the chalk holds today Texas will finish higher than OU in the SEC but OU is in the playoffs? Cluster...

Yeah, they really messed up with the way this thing works. No team should play another three times or even have a chance at doing so. I'm not even big on the rematch unless it's for a Natty, so the conference championship is even unnecessary for me.

5 top 20 upsets in last 3 weeks so far. In 2024 season, week 12, there was 1 top 20 upset. Week 13, 1 top 20 upset. Week 14, 2 top 20 upsets. So no chaos in 2024. A little more this year. Oddly, we’ve been 2 of the 9 top 20 upsets the last 2 years during the last three weeks of the regular season.

Top 10 teams have held serve the final weeks of the past two seasons. Of the 9 top 20 upsets the final three weeks of 2024 and so far this season, 6 were ranked between 13 and 20. Leaving Bama and Ohio State making up the 3 upsets of teams penciled in the bracket.

Hey, I'll take it. And I don't discount OU going in there and laying an egg. But it feels like I've seen this LSU movie too many times now... and those cats ain't afraid to quit. Fans too. It's in the water down there.
Well. I will say it openly. Oklahoma isnt that damn good. We gave them our game. And shocked they beat @Tennessee.

They are more what texas did to them.
But well see

I'll agree. But, I'd say they are good, but not top 10 good. Bama definitely served them up the game on multiple silver platters...

SEC teams doing what they needed to do this weekend. Looking like another weekend going as planned with the top teams doing what they had to do.

Should be safely in the fold:
Ole Miss
Georgia
Oklahoma
A&M

Outside looking in:
Vandy wins, not much opportunity to move up
Texas wins, not much opportunity to move up

Still to go….
Alabama

To whom it may concern: I'm feeling much better this evening about Alabama being a playoff lock, even if they lose to Georgia in Atlanta . Now, a BYU win over Texas Tech and UGA blowing Bama out, those concerns may resurface... but I don't expect that. In fact, I think UA beats UGA again, which makes this all pointless, other than that would likely offer up UA a nice playoff bye week. But back to the original point, Bama is in a good spot. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if UA slips past ND in the rankings tomorrow night... I'm not sure they will, this committee is a bit off the rails, but I do feel very comfortable saying the Tide is safe.

I'm not really worried. Tomorrow night will be little interesting because I'm looking to see what happens with TAMU, Ole Miss and Alabama/BYU/ND.

I think we will see Texas A and M falls to between 5 and 7 spot. Other than that, I think there won't be any movements for 1-6 spot tomorrow. It's what happens after #7 that's interesting.

Whatever Ole Miss falls to or stays at #7 will determine everything tomorrow night will be interesting. Does any 2-loss team move ahead of Ole Miss? if they don't, then I don't see how Alabama jumps ahead of them even with conference win. IMO, they should be in Top 4, replacing Georgia.

I expect Alabama to move up to 9 or 8. They just need to stay ahead of ND and BYU.
This weekend games will have lot of potential implications for all teams playing this weekend.

#11BYU @ 5Texas Tech.
4 Georgia v.s. 10 Alabama.
2 Indiana v.s. 1 Ohio State (This will impact SEC. Winner of the game will likely be in top 4.

So we need to root for Texas Tech, Alabama and Indiana (Since I hate OSU)

I don't see any way possible we are Top 4 with a win.

Crazy happens....
Tonight will tell feeling on bama
And
Ole ms

They lost near-entire coaching staff. Fsu didnt get in when they losttheir qb.
And now coached by ....in cfp.... ????....maybe ....first time HC...n virtually no o staff...

Interesting night coming....

Looking at the schedule, it's hard to make an argument that ND deserves to be in the top ten, or even the top 15. They lost to the only good teams that they played. And although they beat two top 25 teams, it was USC (mediocre) and Pitt (not good). The rest of their schedule was full of cream puffs. It's a miscarriage of justice that they are even being considered for the playoffs.

But they will be. ND needs to get with program. Get some meat in their schedule
