🏈 🏆 The College Football Playoffs 2025-'26. The final week.

How the hell does Texas Tech jump Texas A&M?!

Strength of schedule means nothing!
aTm played the bottom half of the league, up until they lost. Not sure that's as soft as a Big 12 schedule, but they got it easy this year. The only team that was .500 or worse that aTm didn't play was Kentucky.

They didn't play Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oklahoma or Vandy. Tennessee, at .500 in the league, dodged them as well.

I agree with all of this. But, I'd give the Aggies the nod over Tech simply for scheduling Notre Dame... and even UTSA, who is better than the OOC teams that Texas Tech had. They've got to find a way though to make SOS a metric in the rankings... which pretty much means handing it over to computers again. If not, it's going to be a big part of the downfall of this system.

As an aside, I'd actually like to see those 2 teams match up in the 1st round.

@alabama mike this is why I brought up the ACC race a few weeks ago and you and I were looking at what might happen.

IF Duke wins this weekend, they won't be one of the five highest ranked conference champs. They won't make the playoffs. It's now a ND v Miami debate. Do they put Miam in?

Remember. This is why everything was created this way...so no one gets left out. But, by their own rules of inclusion, the ACC champ should be excluded.

I realize if Duke wins they will not be in the hunt. You and I both know that the committee will do everything in its power to keep us out of the playoffs if we lose against UGA. I do not agree with that scenario and I hope I am 100% wrong. It did help a little that we did go ahead of ND in last nights poll.

As far as Miami is concerned, I think they should go in ahead of nd ;), you know how I feel about them.

I really haven't been paying attention to, but your post is the third thing I've seen between here and Instagram about us being in no matter what. How is that? Because we can't be penalized for a postseason loss?
Us moving ahead of ND helps us a lot. The position ND is in would've been same situation for us had we stayed at #10. The last two slots that Alabama would fight for.

Reading the tea leaves on social media, we should be in no matter what the results are. It's the same people who had been saying we should be moving ahead of ND since Saturday night. As long it's not a blowout game on Saturday, we should be okay.
