🏈 GAME THREAD 🏆 Conference Championship Saturday 🏆

I have an NFL-level of interest of Saturday's games.
That high?

If we're to believe game forecasts there's only one that may end up being a ball game. I was reading over on SI earlier today and noticed their writers don't feel there's going to be much competition in the games except for Baylor and OU. Four of their seven writers are going with Baylor over OU.

The rest of their picks look like this:

Six of seven picked Utah over Oregon.
Six of seven picked Central Michigan over Miami (OH.)
Five of seven picked FAU over UAB.
Five of seven picked App State over Louisiana.

Seven of seven picked:
Memphis over Cincy.
LSU over UGA.
Boise State over Hawaii.
Clemson over Virginia
Ohio State over Wisconsin.

Bout right....i wouldgo with Oregon over utah.....ok over Baylor
AND DONT sell Wisconsin short ....if you wanted a BIG upset....
But...osu....so many are gimmies....

Well, what we needed to happen is happening, we just didn't hold up our end of the bargain this time. Oregon lost, and now it looks like Utah may not pull it out, atleast nasty enough where we get the nod if we won and Georgia one. I thought we were in as long as Georgia lost, but burns that much more now to know that damn kick is what kept us out.

For me, that's nonexistent.
Once again I find myself thinking "I need to find a decent sarcasm emoji." "That high" was mean in jest. I've known you long enough to know the lack of appeal NFL football has in your world.

I don't know if it's the case, but even though I don't watch the league play (well, I have one game this season which marks the first game in five or so years) some of their stories still intrigue me. Urban, Jerry, and the Cowboys is a story I find interesting. However, even if he's hired I don't see that leading to me watching the NFL again even with Urban and Dak working together looks promising for their fans.

I knew what you meant. I clarified for emphasis.

I will admit I watched a bit of the PAC game while I was out for dinner. Neither of those teams belong in a playoff conversation, which solidifies the view that the field should not be expanded.

Grabbing breakfast in town this morning. A Michigan fan is at the bar with me, he asked me how Montana is doing in football. He said football out here is terrible, just doesn't compare with the Big10. Funny thing to say to a stanger in Montana.

I'm wondering what fan is in another part of the country and first thing he says is how bad the local football is.

Aahh, you said that for my benefit. ;)

The playoff scenario some speak of started three weeks ago, if not a little longer ago. The weekend of the 24th of November Penn State lost as well as Oregon. Both eliminated that weekend. Fast forward a week and we saw Bama and Minnesota play. Both lost, both eliminated.

Teams that have been in the discussion since the 24th include those mentioned as well as UGA, OU, BU, and Utah. Utah had their game last night; lost and eliminated.

We'll see OU and Baylor today with a team being eliminated. We'll see LSU and UGA today with a team being eliminated.

This weekend, for all intents and purposes, marks the third week of the "playoffs."

Apparently, here is one philosophical change this season I don't care for that's seen with both the media and it's arguable we're seeing it with the committee: bad losses just don't count anymore. Forgive the golf analogy, but I'm inclined to think they all believe every team deserves a mulligan. "Let's just pretend it didn't happen because they had a bad day." I dunno ... 🤷‍♂️
