One of my favorite sports writers uses a phrase from the lyrics of a song in his Sunday columns. Those columns always cover the entire sports landscape, and he's always impressed me with his selection of that one phrase from a popular tune, often one from a few decades ago, to describe his points.

I've always really appreciated anytime a writer can use something outside the sports genre, or ever growing list of sports cliches, to make a point in their write-ups.

All that said because...

I love the way you've used Jack Palance's character from "City Slickers" in this piece!!! :bow:

We've got the "get back coach."

Of course, I think it's LBS's favorite—the "want it coach."

Same here. Awesome read every week. It just makes football season that much sweeter.

I appreciate the compliments guys. This week I got it out earlier at the expense of the quality of the writing. It has more grammar and typographical issues than I can stand to look at, but it just takes so long to write it that editing had to give way this week.

Glad you enjoy it. I like doing them, I just wish I had more time.
