Former Alabama running back Trent Richardson arrested in Hoover

Former Alabama running back Trent Richardson was arrested in Hoover on a domestic violence charge.

Hoover police responded at 8:04 p.m. Thursday to a 911 call reporting a possible domestic disturbance at the Hyatt Place Hotel on John Hawkins Parkway.

A second call was received at 8:05 p.m., reporting yelling coming from one of the guest rooms, said Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector. Responding officers arrived on scene at 8:08 p.m. and were escorted to the source of the disturbance by a hotel employee.

Officers were able to make contact with an adult male - later identified as Richardson - and adult female who were involved in a domestic altercation, Rector said.

After interviewing both of them, officers determined the two had been arguing earlier while at the Walmart on John Hawkins Parkway. The dispute then apparently continued after they arrived back at the hotel.

At some point the situation turned physical, Rector said, and the female sustained injuries - scratches and bruising- to her face.

Hoover Fire Department paramedics were dispatched to check the victim's injuries. She was treated on the scene and required no further medical attention. Her name has not been released.

Richardson, 26, is charged with third-degree domestic violence. He remains in the Hoover City Jail with bond set at $1,000. No court date has yet been set.

I would have never ever believed that Trent was not going to be a star in the NFL.... He had it all....speed ...power...attitude......
What a bust...maybe one of the biggest ever... And now...crap like this...
Unless he went to the perfect team, I knew he would not likely make it very far, he lacked the most pivotal thing, field vision. He never needed it in HS, where he just ran over everyone or college, where he had an awesome OL that opened up huge holes and he still could run through tackles.

Field vision was never a question at Alabama so unless you're Nostradamus...

Sucks to hear this but you put your hands on a female you gotta deal with the consequences.

Not really Nostradamus but you could see that when the blocking did fail at Bama, he just muscled through, instead of taking an open hole. The only time he showed real field vision was on the Gholson ankle breaking play, he used it in the backfield. Most of the time, either the hole was where he expected it or he just tried to power through anyway, never deviating from where the play was designed to be run. Our other starting backs have shown much better field vision. He was just a physical beast, which is not enough at the next level.

Disagree. It was definitely a question and it was brought up a bit at the time. And though the forum I posted it on is long gone now, I said when they were both still at BAMA that CBEL was easily the better NFL prospect mainly because he had the field vision needed at that level. I actually thought he(CBEL) was the better prospect coming out of high school too (thought he was the best that year). Not Nostradamus, just a conclusion I came to based on the film I saw at the time.

Anyways, on topic, sucks to hear this about MFBATR. His NFL days are most likely done but it's not too late to get his life turned around. Hoping he and the victim get the help they need.

Absolutely.....he sure was the beast at Bama...hope its not just one thing after a number...hard to go from being "the man"....to just being another X....
Should have bundles of cash to start fresh...
And...you put ur dirty lousy hands on a woman...and....you aint the F@@king man no mo..period...
And ....no verdict about this incident..cause facts are out...we don't know...
