It's compiled off his yearly report. If the team factors into one of the best of all time, he updates the list. Bama is represented well in this. It seems the main points are that points are accumulated for wins/losses and strength of schedules along with the prior years ending ranking. LSU ended 2002 Not Ranked in the AP poll and Not Ranked in the Coaches. Which probably attributes to why they started with such a bad point total starting off. Despite gaining ground all the way to a championship, they were well behind the curve because of the previous year.
