Seriously, I do hate this. If there is an ounce of integrity in Tuberville's body, he'll place a call to Franklin right now, invite him back, hug him, and apologize. Never give up on the spread. Ever.
Does not necessarily mean they have abandoned the Spread offense - although I think it probably has. Just that they have abandoned this particular guru.
If they stay with the system, would not be surprised to hear that the old coach from Hoover HS is brought in to run the system.
In light of today's events, I encourage you all to go to al.com and read Scarbinsky's column for today. Oh the irony.
No, Terry. That would make him a liar. Tuberville IS NOT a liar.
This couldn't have been his decision anyway. He was just on ESPN's Gameday set a few days ago telling how much HS recruits loved the that spread offense of theirs. Loved it!
There's got to be more behind this than meets the eye. Firing your OC midway thru he season? That just doesn't make any sense. There must have been some type of confrontation between Tubs and Franklin today.
Wow, I just got a call from my mother-in-law in Auburn. She said the players will be meeting in 15 mins.
How do you hire a guy in December and fire him mid-season of his 1st season????? And what about all that hullabuloo about not yet having the players to run your system?
