It should not even be a question. Do not punch. 99.9% of the time the puncher is only going to hurt themselves by hitting a helmet or pads. Just stupid! But on August 29th 2 players ( yes two ) punched an opponent. A Bowling Green player punched a Western Kentucky player and the same night the Syracuse quarter back punched a Villanova player. Both were ejected and will probably face some kind of suspension. In my opinion, there should be a zero tolerance policy for this particular situation and they should be suspended for the rest of the season. If you can't control your emotions or actions then you shouldn't be playing.

Not defending the Syracuse guy's lack of poise and restraint, but the Nova tackler was on him longer than he should have been, and had his helmet. Stupid move. But of course it doesn't warrant a punch.

It was extremely embarrassing and stupid. Starting QB, senior, team leader and captain .. That just shows lack of discipline and restraint.

I imagine he's gonna be suspended a few games.

I agree with you, Philly, on the defensive player. He was the second guy to tackle the qb. The first guy had him and he shouldn't have "helped" the way he did. There could have been a flag on the tackle and the rule about a defenseless player. But the team leader and captain should be above retaliating or he's not a very good leader or captain.

You just say it. The coaching staff will have to get that under control.
