I think his picks are pretty horrible, but that seems to be the exact way every other journalist in the country is going. They are like sheep with one another and just fall in line. I for the life of me cannot understand how he thinks Louisville has the best team in the entire country. That's what #1 means, that you believe they are simply the best team in the country. I can understand how an Alabama, Texas A&M, or Georgia would be #1, but Louisville, Stanford, Clemson, and even Ohio State up top is a joke to me. Stanford just lost both tight ends, all-world back Taylor, quarterback etc. Clemson always stumbles a few times as that's their "thing". Ohio State simply doesn't have the playmakers in my eyes and will not repeat an undefeated season, even in a weak Big 10. Louisville simply has a very talented quarterback that gets all of the publicity. Add that in with a simple schedule and I can see why there is hype, but to me it smells something like Arkansas last year. Maybe I'll be wrong and all of these journalists will look like geniuses, but I feel good about my abilities to analyze college football.
Two time champion quarterback (#10), 1,000 yard running back (#4), 1,000 yard All-American receiver (#9), two starting linemen (one All-American) (#71 & #61), top linebacker in college football (#32), one of the top defensive ends in the country (#49), two (#6 & #24), maybe three (#13) very reliable members of the secondary and more ALL RETURNING, and I think that's what makes a team a #1 team. It doesn't truly matter to me what we start out at, because obviously it only matters in the end, but logic makes you wonder where these guys come up with their picks. Trendy is not something I care for and hate hearing from a so called professional.
