🏈 Things don't sound good for RGIII

That field is horrendous but come on RGIII takes an option to the sideline and has to limp his way the entire way. How he was still in the game after that is mind blowing. That ALL rests on Shanahan.

Wrong. I watch more football than most. I am objective. Its on the coach to know when hes not doing anything but hurting his team and the player having him out there, and look what happened.

Two parts to this issue. First, was the hurt player playing better than his replacement? That's a judgment call by the coach. Second, is the hurt player risking further injury by playing? Although the player has input, that's a call by the team doctors and trainers. Shanahan did not force (or even allow) a player who was, by doctor's opinion, at greater risk of serious injury. Would a healthy Cousins, allowed to perform more than a couple of closing series, been better positioned to win the game? I'm not sure, but that is the only part of this situation that applies to Shanahan, not the subsequent, more serious injury.

Oh really? Well first, Cousins played VERY well in the game he started and after RGIII re-injured himself in the Playoff game he was 100% ineffective. When you see your player literally hobbling while trying to get to the sidelines, this after he cant drive the ball down the field like he usually can either (the two things that made RGIII so great) you make the judgment to pull him out. Was he risking further injury by staying in, yeah I think we know the answer to that... take it into account when RGIII first hurt his knee Dr. Andrews wasnt even allowed to evaluate RGIII before Shanahan let him back into the game and Shanahan even LIED to the media and said that Andrews had cleared him (which Andrews has publicly said was a lie) tells the story.

Completely agree. I could not believe he wasn't pulled, even for the final quarter or something. If they had any hopes of competing in the next round (if they had won that game), they needed a healthy RGIII. He looked awful after the first quarter, hobbling and struggling to even throw successfully. He just looked defeated physically and mentally. He was being a tough guy, staying in, but Shanahan was a yutz for letting him play AND for lying. That injury was rough. If your QB comes into a game injured, it's one thing to tough it out and play to win .. but it's not about one guy, it's about the team, and if they wanted any hope to compete the next week as well as the next season, they needed him in the best condition possible.
