🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 ⛈ The weather thread. The south is waking up and spring work has begun

At some point, don't you just have to break down and go the ten minutes to Home Depot and get it?
That list grows smaller by the day. But sure. On some things it can't be avoided. Lumber would be at the top of the list; plants as 1A.

I spend time goofing off at Home Depot when I don't have anything I need. If you were to call today and mention you were headed there and wanted to know if I wanted to "tag along" I'd likely be there. Just to wander/wonder around. Where someone leafed through a catalong 25 years ago I'll wander through a hardware store today. It's a time of respite. With Lowe's across the street? I could easily spend over an hour between the two garden departments.

@TerryP HD does a great job of trying to get and then retain their customers. One thing I wouldn’t suggest is this, don’t order online and have it delivered to the store. The idiots at the RDC treat goods they load on trucks we get like workers at a landfill! Have it delivered to your home, even if it does cost. We had one customer order 3-4 toilets for a new home. Had to reorder two of them TWICE!!! Ever heard a toilet that sounded like one of those rain sticks? 4 foot fluorescent bulbs, they are brutal on stuff!!
We do occasionally run across a shady 3rd party group that delivers and then wants to charge a little extra to install appliances.

Ya see? Here's where I'm likely one of those "pain in the ass" customers. The last time I bought a toilet I did in person. @It Takes Eleven I wanted to see the inside of the tank and the components. Just the seat choice alone is something I wanted to see in person.

To your point? I can't think of a purchase at a hardware store I've had to have delivered to the store with picking it up in mind. In fact, it's a little funny you mention this. The only thing I can remember ordering online and having to pick it up at a store was a wallet (been shopping for one since Brandon started that thread.)
