After everything you've said... Or haven't said... It boils down to this:
You think it's OK for the staff to offer a kid a scholarship in a particular season/class, accept his commitment, and rescind this in favor of another player or another season/class.
I don't.
And as far as "not being there" when the scholarship was offered, and not wanting to speak on it, you might speak on dozens of topics a day that you aren't there for. We all do.
You're a very intelligent dude and know how this process works. You know as well as I do when the kid was first offered and/or committed, it was under the assumption he would be in THIS CLASS. The kid was clearly surprised by how the grey shirt situation unfolded.. Just as others have been before him.
I think it's important that the adults representing the program keep their word to high school kids, you believe there is a grey area (at best). And that's that.
