The Ryder Cup 2025 - 1st tee time 7:10 ET

If I'm putting bentgrass more than you and we are of the same talent level, I'll have a better day, every day. I'm suggesting they are more accustomed to the putting surfaces as one possible reason.

That explaining Scheffler too?

How are you going to cut your own legs off by setting up a course like that on your own soil? Your point only creates more questions.

Why would the US set up a course that gives the Europeans an advantage? Maybe they did, but it sounds odd. Did our guys know what the greens would be comprised of and they didn’t practice on it? Our putting is has not been good or consistent. What little I watched yesterday was painful.

Yes. It was opened for practice last week I believe. It hasn't been open for play for three months. There's a good chance the last time some of these guys played on bentgrass was at Oakmont in early June. Unless they played in one of the smaller tournaments like the Barracuda. It was the first win for the guy who won that tournament and he sits just outside the top fifty.

They could (hypothetically) practice for a week and not see the same hole locations this weekend as they saw in practice.

Casey, consider the challenges playing a true links course can give PGA guys. Same kind of thing? Just speculating...

I'll say it again and you're simply being too emotional. They are professionals, the best there is. The US is being outplayed and most of the time is by Europe. Blaming the putting surface is comical. A pro will slice up your local muni, the hardest course you've ever played, and dominate the worst conditions you've ever seen. Acting as if they can't evolve or somehow having an excuse for why they can't play to their ranking is all excuses. That's like blaming an Alabama away loss on "it's not their home field they practice on". The greens are not why Burns is putting worse than everyone else. The course is not why Scheffler is not playing to his ranking. Both of them play more golf than any of us can fathom and have won everywhere. They aren't dialed in. Add that in on top of bad captain selections and you have this mess.

Links course? They dominate those courses when it's not raining with 50mph winds. Wonder why we see 100 ft putts made at St. Andrew's and alike?

I expected the crowd to be NY. I suspected it might get ugly outside the ropes after watching this mornings group.

I turned it off. I wanted to watch golf.
