šŸ“ The Portal Watch 2020-2021: Florida's Emory Jones announces intent to enter the transfer portal

Who was the guy that punted in front of Perine for most of 2019? That guy might have literally been the worst player in the NCAA. Guy could barely punt 30 yards. I just remember it being one of the rare occasions Saban got pissed off at a specialist.

Refer me to some good grits. I like Geechie Boy.
(I'm a bit partial to Marsh Hen Mill.)
It's the same mill.

Back in 2020 they changed their name due to pressure the name "Geechie Boy" was appropriating black culture. I don't know if you know the story. The original "Geechie Boy" (Tumbleston, I want to say?) was a white farmer on Edisto. They got out of the industry about 20 years ago.

You can order directly from Marsh Hen—I do see some of their products in Harris Teeter and Publix. The same goes for Anson Mills (ordering online.)

Tell ya what. I don't know how you're set for fresh scallops but if you can get your hands on them try the Sea Island Blue from Marsh Hen Mill: a scallops, bacon, Edamame, and creamy grits?!?!

Anson Mills ... origins are from a white corn as well. Neat story there: it was a bootleggers corn.

For anyone who does a bunch of complaining to you about Bama picking up players in the portal, ask them how they feel about LSU picking up 12 players from it since Kelly was hired.
They had 10 leave so they're plus two on what we counted to be a roster that was under the 85 last season. Honestly, I don't know if there will be many who care what LSU has done in this cycle because, by LSU standards, it's a weak class. One 5⭐ who's transferring in (AA last season) with about half of their class ranked as 3⭐ prospects.

McEwen & Sons in Wilsonville, just down the road from where I grew up, has a good grit reputation in Alabama. Their hardware store has been there a while.

Perhaps we went a little off topic on this thread. I take full responsibility.
1. First, pick good grits
ā€œStart with the best grits you can get your hands on,ā€ says chef Edouardo Jordan, who grew up in Florida and runs the modern Southern food temple Junebaby in Seattle. (He orders his grits from Marsh Hen Mill on Edisto Island, South Carolina.) ā€œMost grocery-store grits have been sitting on shelves over six months.ā€

I get your point, but this is irrelevant as far as the crying is concerned. Bama had a ton of players leave last year and this year yet folks don't seem to think they should be using the portal to replace them. LSU is only 1 year further from winning it all so the crying should be just as bad against them.

Here’s a very good article on the impression CNS left on the Douglas family. I wouldn’t call it a miss. The team took steps to keep the young man in the right track. The impression the school left on the family comprised of legacy UT athletes is immeasurable.
