GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 23/23 Alabama women's basketball team defeated Florida, 84-66, in Gainesville Thursday evening. The Crimson Tide was led by Aaliyah Nye who finished with a game-high 27 points as she set a school record with a career-high nine three pointers.
With the win, UA completed the regular season sweep over the Gators after defeating UF to open conference play (Jan. 2, 2025),
Nye led Alabama (19-5, 6-4 SEC) as one of four players to score in double figures. Sarah Ashlee Barker finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Essence Cody (16 points) and Zaay Green (15 points, six assists) also scored in double figures. The UA starting five of Barker, Cody, Green, Nye and Karly Weathers combined for 78 of Alabama's 84 points.
Barker and Cody dominated the paint as the duo combined for 19 rebounds, including three blocked shots from Barker.
Liv McGill led Florida (12-12, 3-7 SEC) with 22 points, six rebounds and six assists.

"We had great balance and selflessness in finding the open person. I thought when Christabel Ezumah and JeAnna Cunningham came in, they gave us great minutes with their presence at the five spot. I thought our kids did a nice job. Our fives, collectively on offense, had a strong presence in the post. Defensively what they did was phenomenal. As much as those things don't always show up in the stat sheet, they did a nice job of buying into the game plan, and it wasn't just the offensive side of the ball."

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 18/20 Alabama women's basketball team defeated Texas A&M, 88-49, on Monday night en route to its 21st win and 11th home victory of the season. The Crimson Tide (21-5, 8-4 SEC) showcased a strong defensive performance during the first half to help build a 30-point cushion and cruised to the win.
Four Alabama starters finished in double digits for the second consecutive game. Sarah Ashlee Barker led all scorers with 18 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field including a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Zaay Green (16), Aaliyah Nye (15) and Essence Cody (10) also contributed to the Tide's overall 88 points.
Green led the Crimson Tide on defense, swatting three shots, while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out six assists. Karly Weathers led the Tide by pulling down 10 rebounds.
Jada Malone led Texas A&M (10-14, 3-8 SEC) in scoring with 17 points while grabbing six assists.

I used to take a book to Coleman on Sunday afternoon's due to the reading load I had in school. I didn't care, a lot, for women's basketball...but, it beat the hell out of the house or library.
Last night I woke up hearing "Barker." I caught the last 10 or so...that was a ball game.
@alabama mike SEC's site has video highlights of the game. It's a ESPN feed, so to speak, but I can't get their video's to embed. The ADHD thing I referenced earlier ... know I'm off wondering why that doesn't work. It's pissed me off for a few years now.

Some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. Completely botched a call where there was no travel whatsoever on a fastbreak. Barker's "intentional foul" where LSU lady is not in guarding position and Barker is making a basketball move. Then the last second shot in regulation where an Alanama girl is tackled on the potential putback.
Glad Alabama got the win though.

Yeah, I watched most of the 2nd half and the officials spoke with a Cajun accent for sure. I thought Curry was going to lose her shit on several occasions and it took players from getting her T'd up! Congrats to the Tide on a BIG win!

I think Barker had to restrain her after they called an intentional when they called the LSU girl for a blocking foul. How they came up with that after a review is insane.
Big win for the program though. Think this team can definitely make it to the second weekend.
I watched most of the game last night and am proud for these ladies and the win. They all played hard and wanted this win bad. I am not trying to be a downer but this program should consistently be on the level of South Carolina and LSU. CKC has been the head coach for 12 years and everybody is now saying after the LSU win this program is finally over the hump. REALLY!!!! Just this year she lost to a 3rd year Vandy coach, a 1st year Tennessee coach, a 1st year Kentucky coach, and got blown out by a 5th year Texas coach. Not to mention Kim Mulkey winning a NC her second year at LSU. Again, I’m proud of this team for the win and hope they beat Oklahoma Sunday and then have a good showing in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments. RTR!!!!
HC at Texas, currently has them #1 and he was pretty damn successful at Miss St if I’m not mistaken. CKC has them sitting at 23-6 right now and quite possibly a 3 seed at best, but likely 4 seed in the Big Dance.
