🏈 The Facebook dude stops by Bama football facility

I used to enjoy Facebook when it was only for college kids as I felt it had a purpose (I joined in 2002, first year it started when you had to have a college email address)(quit in 2010), but with ten year old kids joining, fights and crimes being posted, and all the nastiness that has erupted on Facebook, it's just blah to me. I get I'm not of the current modern mold when it comes to most things, but I feel Facebook has done more bad than good up to this point. I mean, just look at recruiting and how fanbases rip on these kids that don't choose their school as a small piece of my point. We'll see if he holds up like some of the establishments of American business.

I am like you. I used to love facebook. Then it turned into a whine fest and everyone has their feelings hurt all the time. To much dang drama for me. I dont even check it anymore.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse with this post, so apologies.

Saw this picture of Jalen and Mark and noticed a logo on the lunch boxes.

I have never been on facebook, never wanted to be a part of it and don't know much about it or any other social media for that matter. I'm just not that social I guess. Maybe I wear a tinfoil hat but it seems to me another way for Big Brother to keep an eye on things, we being the things.

Zuckerberg is a ******* tool. Tries to act all Liberal, but then tries to crush others with his money. Typical hypocrite.

Recruiting gold? No one is coming to Alabama because the founder of Facebook stopped by once.

Liberals are hypocritical when they try to crush others with money? Nonsense. I do agree that most times they're using other people's money to do so. George Soros is a good example of a liberal using his own money, many times surreptitiously, to achieve his goals.

Use of power (money, investing, political, etc.) is not a non-liberal trait. It's their stock and trade.

Facebook is what you make it. Tired of seeing people whine? Well...you put those people on your friends list....just take them off.

You make it sound so simple. What if it's someone you like and respect their opinions, yet when they post something someone else comes in blasting them amd you have to see all of that garbage? The easiest way is to simply not have an account at all. The way the site works they use your browsing history, current location, information you input and build a "user friendly" site where they market people and companies that they feel you can utilize. The ads, suggestions, and news headlines is just garbage to me. Let's not even get into the crimes that have been committed due to the location services and idiot posts where people advertise their vacation plans allowing for everyone to know when they'll be gone. I haven't been on Facebook in like seven years, so I'm sure it's changed, for the worst when it comes to people like me.

Then hide their posts? It really is that simple. Don't like seeing the ads or suggestions or news highlights? Click on them and tell them "I don't want to see this" or "It's offensive to me." I mean you're right in it's easier to just not have a Facebook account. It's probably also easier to just deadbolt my doors and remove myself from society altogether.

Novel idea. Society would most likely be a better place if most did do that. But hey, if you gotta know what your cousin had for lunch and your friend in California is doing this weekend, have at it.

Yep, that's what I see. Nothing but pictures of food and updates on friends from across the state and country. I have no idea how I cope with such horrific atrocities in life. Teach me your ways. If I see another person message me to ask if I want to grab lunch...I just...I just don't think I can take it!

In all seriousness though I'm just yanking your chain a bit. I get why people would prefer to stay off the platform. For myself though, I use it to keep up with those I like but aren't necessarily wanting to be extremely close too. Honestly if it weren't for Facebook I wouldn't talk to half my family but once a year and thats a good thing....I think. Also it's very useful for keeping up with old colleagues and work associates, never know when you'll need them again. Haha.

I was just messing as well. I know my messages came across as a little moody, but I truly meant nothing by it other than being a smartass. It has its purposes and does a lot of great things as well, so I admit that. I guess it just amazes me that there are so many dumb people out there that love to post dumb things, it takes away from the positives of the idea.
