The Cameron Newton Auction
by Bama Dawg on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 12:30am
Again, someone sent me this via email tonight and I have no clue who wrote it or who to give credit to, but thought I'd share it!
Sung to the tune of "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)" by John Michael Montgomery
Well I went down to the Cameron Newton auction
Where I saw a player we just had to have
The compliance guy said I should proceed with caution
But the boosters said āgo ahead and make a bid on that!ā
Anā I said hey Cecil Newton wonāt ya gimme a sign
Iād do anything to make Cam mine all mine
Weāll pay your price and then rebuild your church
Yeah, I never seen a player looking so fine
Man weāve got have him heās one of a kind
Heās going once, going twice,
Heās sold to the booster in the second row
Heās 6-6 and runs a 4.5 you know
Heās got a rifle arm, sticky fingers, shifty eyes
And Iām ābout to bid Auburnās season good-bye!
Well ol' Cecil was goinā on bout a mile a minute
He was taking bids and discussing them out loud
And I knew how badly we wanted us a quarterback
So I just shouted out above the crowd!
I said hey Cecil Newton wonāt ya gimme a sign
Iād do anything to make Cam mine all mine
Weāll pay your price and then rebuild your church
Yeah, I never seen a player looking so fine
Man weāve got have him heās one of a kind
Heās going once, going twice,
Heās sold to the bidder in the Auburn sweats
Well he won our hearts it was no contest
With his rifle arm, sticky fingers and shifty eyes
Weāre about to bid Auburnās season good-bye!
Yeah, we bought Cam off the auction block
Anā we hauled him to the plains
Weāll keep lying about what we did
Until we have to forfeit all our games!
