🏀 Thad Matta health issues article.

That's two years old and no longer means anything.

It means everything. It is a detailed explanation of what drove him away from the OSU job. These issues at the time of the article are things he had been dealing with for 10 years.

Did you even read the article or even attempt to do any research on the issues that are vaguely referenced when his name is mentioned?

Dude has a permanent debilitation from back surgery. A condition known as drop foot that prevents him from moving his foot properly. He has to wear a brace to walk and needs a special chair on the sidelines. He is in so much pain from coaching related activities he cant take his own shoes off.

Usually those types of conditions don't improve unless you eliminate the activities. He may feel good now but when he gets back into the grind how will his body respond?

I think this is not only relevant but central to weather he can be on the sidelines again. Why has he waited two years? He is a hell of a coach and I would love to have him if he can handle the grind.

His name is being seriously thrown around as a candidate on message boards and I was curious what is issues were. I'm sure I'm not the only one!

@Bamaclam, He hasn't waited two years. He's waited until he has a job that he wanted. Last year he interviewed for three positions and two of them were in the SEC.

Yes, I did read the article. I also read a response in the other thread about the coaching search which linked a few articles disputing what's being said here. As example, Thad wasn't fired when he indeed was fired.

I just believe that these type of physical issue are the type that don't just go away. I think it will be important for any school that considers him to take these into account. Not trying to be argumentative with you. I just feel your position that it is irrelevant now may be a little dismissive.

Like I said, if the Guy can deal with it on and off the court, I would love to have him. He put some great talent, well coached on the floor and in the NBA.
