šŸˆ Tennessee is hiring UCF’s Josh Heupel as its next head football coach,

Men- five games back from first place with eight games to play in the regular season (good for sixth place in the SEC standings) and they want to talk about basketball?

lol.....better of evils.... i guess....

most ( i know or even associate with) are truely embarrassed by going-ons in football.... ( I empathize...remembering Dubose...Albert Means..textbooks...mike Price) .... but i also remember the enjoyment they were getting from those days

I think it was Butches last year or may next to last the wife and I were in Gatlinburg in the early spring time and I walked into one of the shops with my Bama hat on. Of course the store owner was a Vile fan and wanted to go ahead and start talking crap about what they were going to do to Bama and in the SEC in the fall. I just laughed and said we will see on the field. That bunch is so out of touch. Probably the best thing they can do is go into hiding when it comes to football.

yep...thats the slant as of today....
Want to know truth....cant get people around here to even talk about football...
Its vols bball.....and lady vols

None of my family in East tn will utter a peep about football unless I bring it up and then they try and skate away. My brother who I love dearly except for his allegiance is actually kind of pitiful. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. I don’t let it stop me from asking pointed questions and making him discuss it though

I have a sister in law that is a vile fan and my wife has a ton of family around the Morristown area. Yeah they are all pretty silent/passive these days. Has not always been the case thus my full disdain for the Viles. I was one that always said win on the field and let the enjoyment of the win be enough but most think they have to get into the smack talk like they did something.

Clemson countered the UT interest with a raise for Elliot.

"I'd rather remain as an offensive coordinator than take the head job at UT?" Doesn't sound right, does it?

I'm thinking TE is eyeing the end of the '21 season and the rumored opening happening next season.
$300,000 raise; now at two million per year.

Clemson now has two of the three highest paid assistants in college football.

When I lived in East TN, we used to spend time in Jefferson City and Morristown. We used to eat at the Little Dutch.

Then you know the beauty of east TN......
Excluding copperhill

Yes, it's beautiful country with, on the whole, good people. I hit most every small town, including the four I mentioned, Jefferson City, Morristown, Sneedville, Niota, Athens, Cookeville, Crossville, Maynardville, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Elizabethton, Newport, Benton, Oak Ridge, Oneida along with the cities of East TN Chattanooga, Knoxville and Tri-cities. Probably missing a few.

When I was in Ducktown there were still major gashes in the land from the smelting operation. They had just closed the last mine. It was in October '87. I remember because we stayed in some condos over in Murphy, NC, and the first day I was there was the market crash.

Is that what stinks so bad around 75 where it crosses the Hiwassee River?

Who is the third now? Last year Sark was one over two million and Steele was another. Four last season?
There were five last season. Sark and Steele were getting the most at 2.5 million, Pelini (LSU) was getting a little over 2.25, and then it was Elko (A&M) and Venables (Clemson.)

As of now it's three as far as I know with Elliot, Venables, and Elko.
