This WAS a meaningful bowl game and we are watching A&M react due to its meaning.

1) Beat Alabama
2) #1 recruiting class.
3) loses bowl game.

The latter is the key. Jimbo trying to ride the wave of momentum from the first two only to see that wave being broken by a loss.

With Bjork and Fisher we have two men who have proven themselves wanting for character and integrity. That's neither speculation nor opinion; it's proven history.

I'm judging what's going on here based on a few things and among them are what we know of the two decision makers involved. Both Bjork and Fisher have earned as much respect as Paul Rubenfeld and they deserve as much trust as Paul does in an adult theater.

If my feelings towards Jimbo have relevance here let's see where those feelings come from.

2) he coddles abusers

Tell me. Can you name any case in life you'd trust what's coming from an individual like that? There's one in my book: you listen and trust when they're trying to save their own ass.

Here's the thing Greg. Let's take Jimbo out of the picture completely. Let's say this is all from Ross Bjork. Does that change the story? He's an enabler and one who coddles as well. In his case, it's an abuser of a different ilk: one who openly and consciously abuses the rules.

What would truly be the reasoning for going against your established testing policies just for this one game? For the safety of the “student-athlete and university”? BULLSHIT!!! Like @TerryP said, Jimbo’s plan was to ride the wave of 1) beating BAMA and 2) winning the recruiting championship. Taking the L with a walk on QB, a patchwork defense with multiple “opt outs”, and the DC Elko, gone would’ve really sent them into ‘22 with really harsh reality feelings. Now, he can go into Spring still thumping his chest about 1&2 and not have to field all of the questions about having gotten his ass whipped by an ACC school.
