**Special teams remain Alabama's biggest weakness. The long kickoff returns, two of them, and the two badly missed field goals contributed to Alabama's loss just as they missed field goals against Auburn did. Punting is a bright spot, as evidenced by the key punt by JK Scott out of the end zone, but it wasn't enough today.
**Still too many penalties (8-52) and turnovers (two), made all the worse coming off a bye week in which mental mistakes and protecting the football were stressed.
**The team is going to miss Kenyan Drake. He's a toy that Lane Kiffin enjoyed using, and now that's gone for the season.
**T.J. Yeldon is still the best running back on Alabama's roster. His vision sets him apart from Derrick Henry. Henry is load to bring down, for sure, but when he goes lateral it's a win for opposing defense.
**Blake Sims' shoulder injury affected his preparation and, in turn, probably affected the way he played. He didn't play poorly (the interception is understandable given the situation), but he wasn't the same Sims we saw the last two games.
**Ole Miss did a good job of limiting Amari Cooper, and he still managed nine catches for 91 yards. But they kept him out of the end zone and that's a win.
**Reggie Ragland and Jonathan Allen played well on defense, especially against the run.
**Christion Jones has disappeared from this offense. He had one catch for 17 yards and fumbled a kickoff which directly led to Ole Miss' game-winning score.
**When Alabama ran the ball effectively, it went left off of true freshman left tackle Cam Robinson. He is dominating. And he's just a freshman. The best is yet to come.
**The defense played well for much of the game, but lost its composure in the fourth quarter. That's especially concerning coming off a bye week.
**I don't sense the defense has an alpha dog like C.J. Mosley was last year. It's just not there that I can see. It's a work in progress to say the least, but Landon Collins has the capability.
