Well according to some of one of the UT fans that I work with, they "stole one of our top coaches" and "he already brought a couple of recruits with him...one's a big 6'8" 330 pounder."

Now that I get home and look on the internet I'm guessing that he's talking about McCullers who committed to UT today. McCullers is a good pickup for them, but I'm not worried one bit about McCullers going to UT...I'm not even quite sure how to respond to a comment like that because I understand how big of a gap there is in their talent compared to our's, and their coaching and our's. But it seems every time something remotely good/exciting happens for them, I have about 5 UT fans that will come up to me or call/text me about it. Sad thing is, I could talk about college football all day, literally....I just can't stand hearing about UT. It's gonna be a sad, SAD day when they're able to compete with us again. Heck, they're annoying to me right now, and they straight up suck...

I'm in agreement with Terry. Reminds me of Thompson. Sal did good while he was here, but to think we just lost one of our top coaches is a bit much. Also, Sal wasn't recruiting that many players for us this year, so we won't be losing recruits to UT based on this move.

Now that I get home and look on the internet I'm guessing that he's talking about McCullers who committed to UT today. yeah, a vol ask me today if i was getting scared because all the bama coaches were going to tn. i just told him that it makes good business sense for us to send coaches up there. since we own ut we want to make it profitable right? therefore we have to send the personnel with the brains to run it. and also that we were going to send them to either the acc or big east where they would be more competitive. then he tells me i need help!

I hate to see him go because he seems to have been a good coach here, but an unhappy coach starts becoming a sloppy coach. I am glad to see it was for a promotion/raise.

Just curious, but how many of our defensive position coaches have moved to become DC somewhere else? I know this is at least the 2nd. Just don't think that fact can hurt when looking for a new positions coach.

I'm less worried about people who are already committed and more worried about Goldman who was being recruiting by Sal. Since he's got no commitment at the time and it being closer and closer to signing day.

Sunseri was Goldman's lead recruiter.

I haven't heard much chatter about him being big on Bama. I know he has you in the final four but I keep hearing elsewhere. It all depends on when you read the info, I suppose.

Not saying it will cost you a shot but it won't be a great thing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. When it comes to rivalries, mine starts with UT.

Sal moving to UT doesn't really bother me at all when it comes to the recruiting trail. He didn't want to put in the time and hours Saban requires. He didn't like Saban's management style.

You know what that tells me? Sure, we might lose a kid or two every few years to Sal, but we'll end up outworking him.
