I find myself thinking about two phrases. One, I’m not a fan of using, the other ancient but none-the-less very true.

We often see people use the phrase ā€œthey’ve grown by leaps and boundsā€ when describing the improvements in ones performance. We’ve seen that phrase used on more than one occasion when describing the 2008 Crimson Tide team.

Another phrase, this one largely attributed to its Biblical origins, talks about growth in terms of ā€œmoving from plateau to plateau.ā€ I couldn’t think of a more apt description of what we’ve just witnessed with this football season.

Good one Terry especially since I'm still looking for solace.

One thing that keeps bugging me about the Utah game is how our DB's reacted. It was probably discussed here the other night, but I missed it. I'm assuming it was due to the speed and shock factor of Utah, but on those 1st few series our DB's could never get turned around. On every one of those big pass plays our guys never turned around to find the ball.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they taught from the beginning to turn around? The receiver will always have the advantage if you don't. It reminded me so much of last season and the year before. I know many teams get burned by this, but this year we've done a much better job. Just a little disappointed in what I thought would have been a much better facet of our game. :?
