🏈 Strong Initial Team Meeting - Scipio Tex Take

Tim you are bringing up some old memories for me.

I haven't heard the Eastwood mall name in a while. First thing that comes to my mind is Parisians, Service Merchandise, Century Plaza and the bowling alley. When we use to go out looking at XMAS lights as a kid, we'd all get in the station wagon and head over to that side of town and hit that KK and drive around and look at lights.

Parisian was the best. When Belk took them, they became a higher end J.C. Penney (and I mean that in a most negative way). I was never a Service Merchandise fan, never a believer in having to stand in line to buy and then again to get your goods. At the Service Merchandise at the old Loehmann's Village in Hoover (they were ahead of their time with the outdoor mall concept), you'd have to wait a half hour for your product after paying.

RTR,

Tim

I loved Service Merchandise when I was a kid. There was something magical about seeing your stuff come out of the wall on the conveyor belt.

I don't think this story is 100% credible either, but deep down I hope it is true. These are the kind of things that should be going on at programs around the country. It's gotten so out of hand that it's unbelievable and some guidelines like this is a good start in the right direction, IF THEY ARE TRUE. Bringing academics back to football would be ideal and produce more citizens this country can utilize, not another crop of idiots that end up failing at life after a brief sign of success while playing football.

i'd be pissed if i was forced to move to another dorm after i'd already gotten settled in and had my room arranged the way i wanted.

Give me a break sk33tr. If this was you as a student at Bama, you’d have your s*** packed up and moved out in an hour if you thought it would lead to another win or two for the football team! :biggrin_blue:

ok, i'll give you a break.

i hate to "break" it to you, but i would most definitely be pissed if that happened to me.

don't presume to know how i'd feel about a situation.

Are some of you guys on drugs? I'm serious. Are you? Listen people. You have a man with high morals setting standards of conduct and making changes in a program to benefit the student-athlete. And all you can do is find fault and nitpick at that?! It's ridiculous! Come on.

Oh yeah we should believe everything we hear/read like you, hunh? Hows that whole Nick Saban coming to Texas thing going again? If you think he's going to be making assistants RUN when a player messes up, I have some dumpster fire front property in Austin to sell you...

ridiculous? not, not in the least.

there are things on that list (which i still don't believe is true, by the way) that don't make sense due to the issues previously pointed out in this thread.

and if what we do, say, post or think upsets you that much, if it makes you mad, if it makes you question anything about us or this board.....THEN LEAVE!

GO!

GET THE EFF OUT!

you're a damn texas fan! why are you here, anyway?! why would you "relegate" yourself to a 'BAMA board? did you kicked off all the texas boards for spewing childish and nonsensical crap that nobody gives two shits about? seriously! you're a ******* texas fan!

LMAO, this coming from the guy that was so sure Nick Saban was coming to coach the mighty Moneybag Longhorns. Now that you settled for Charlie Strong, he has high morals? Coach Strong wasn't even on your radar until after you figured out that Coach Saban wasn't even considering that DUMPSTER FIRE of a school. I like Charlie Strong, he can make or break himself there in the mighty Longhorn land. My bet is that the regents will run him off in a few years and they will go after the coach of the day of that time period and settle for Mike Leach.

You know, whether I use a strain from Kushman Veganics, one of the Yogi strains, Sour Amnesia, or say maybe Kosher Kush has no bearing on this thread.

There's not a single comment in this thread about Strong or his morals. It's about the bullshit this writer has thrown out there from his second and third hand sources. With, if you'll allow me to remind you, has points specifically pointed to and how they are simply that, BS.

Here is the correct article quote that this diatribe pretends to be:

http://www.chron.com/sports/longhor...ot-happy-with-UT-s-recent-results-5146524.php

"When you're the top program in the country, you have to be about championships," Strong said. (Not the top program in the country)
Strong also started laying down new expectations, such as having players move back on campus and demanding they sit up front in class. The housing change is to promote team unity and remove cliques. The class rules, such as no hats or cell phones, are about teaching players to respect the academic side of their time at Texas and their professors.
"I want them in the front row ... Give the professor the same respect you give me," Strong said."

Also the original post comes from a site called the Barking Carnival. Look at the responses to it from Tehas Fans. They are worse than our response. You can paint a turd gold but it still ain't a gold bar. That site claims to be about humour. I was laughing before I read all of the article so I guess it works.
