šŸ“” Staff additions/changes: Reports: Craig Kuligowski hired as defensive line coach

Yeap! This would be a home run hire, but he comes with significant risk of bailing for a return to the NFL. A guy with his experience, success, youth and resume could really be an asset in recruiting and player development. Article linked below.

Longtime NFL Coach a Candidate for Alabama Staff Opening

I think the 'risk for bailing' is a given for every assistant coach Saban hires at this point. Daboll got us/himself a title in just over a year.

It's crazy to think about though. Just an amazing run we're on! Roll Tide! No offense taken.

Okay, I went to the 2017 record book, which lists all all-time assistant coaches on pages 219-220. Quite the walk down memory lane. I stripped out all non-Saban era coaches (the list shows the official on-the-field coaches, not analysts and support spots, I believe) and I got these 28. I could easily have missed some. I only see four that didn't get a ring (bolded). Three that were there Saban's first year only, and Sark. I'm sure there are many other folks who had off the field roles that didn't see a NC, but this was my only resource.

Now, what did poor old Lance ever do to you? LOL!!!!
How much would you be laughing if it was your child's mother? You may find the sanctity of marriage a laughing matter. Personally, I don't. If we disagree on this, no big deal. If a person lacks the moral fortitude in that regard he lacks it in all regards.

The only reason a hire like Thompson would make any degree of sense is if it sent Tosh back to the DL--an area considered his specialty. He's a better linebacker coach than Thompson--a position that's not considered his (TL's) "bread and butter."

Coaching skills: lacking. A moral compass: doesn't exist. Recruiter: he's a good one. One of three will never change my opinion.

How much would you be laughing if it was your child's mother... Hmm. Guess it depends on if we were still married, together, banging, or I hated her guts. Baby Mama drama!

One thing's for sure, he sure know's how to seal the deal on the recruiting tail! Trail... Trail.

Great work 11.... I know it would be virtually impossible; but it would really tell a story if someone would be able to add those staffers who do not hold a "coaching" position, such as Director of Player Personnel; GA, Intern, Analyst, etc. I have always thought that the impact of the massive turnover in these unsung, but very important "recruiting related" positions.

Didn't know there was a personal connection. I'll simply back way...... slowly.
There is no personal connection. Although, given different circumstances and there were I'd say the same thing.

He's a piece of shit.

Football:
I don't believe he's that good of a coach. Average along the lines of Kevin Steele but Steele is able to scheme better, game plan better. He is a good recruiter.

Other than football:
He's a piece of shit and that opinion is based purely on his actions.

In this case, one side weighs more heavily than the other.

For what it's worth, while Saban does "return to the fold" at times, I've not heard a thing that gives me reason to believe Thompson was, is, or has been a serious candidate. ;
